We really don't need to play great baseball today and tomorrow, if last night is any indication. Just put the ball in play and they'll boot it around until 6 or 7 of our guys cross the plate.

In a season filled with brutal pitching health -- Jeffrey Springs and Drew Rasmussen needed Tommy John surgery -- McClanahan's arm injury is the worst of all.
Bad luck for Tampa. They aren't looking like a scary opponent in the playoffs anymore.
Seems like everyone has gotten hit with a crazy amount of injuries. At least the contenders have.
Would not surprise me if you see a change back towards actual pitching vs max effort throwing every pitch. Starters getting better conditioned to pitch longer into games should come out of this with the pitch clock meaning they have to work faster.
I completely agree. I don't get the infatuation with velocity now. It's like the stat nerds have taken over baseball.
