Could **** up our season. I was optimistic until heim went down. The deadline gave me new hope and sweeping the homestand reinforced that, but if the lineup looks like it did in San Diego for a week or longer, we might be screwed.

We need to have some long overdue success in the Bay Area and on the road. We should still be able to get 4 out of 6, but I really want 5-1. 4 of the 6 starting pitchers we face aren't good. I just wonder how discombobulated the lineup might be with all the issues.

Injuries are part of having a 162G season. This is an opportunity for guys to get chances to step up:

Dunning (16GS, 3.14 ERA) v Waldichuck (14GS, 6.52 ERA. 25G, 88.1 IP, 89 SO)
Scherzer (20GS, 4.04) v Sears (22GS, 4.07, 121.2 IP, 111 SO)

I really like the pitching matchups we're going with against the A's. The A's beat you by drawing walks. Those 3 pitchers are usually pretty good at pounding the zone. I'd worry more about Perez or grey going out there and walking everyone.

Houston scored 13 runs against them in 4 games, and still won 3 of 4. Gotta make productive outs, put 5-7 runs on the board every night, and pound the zone. Oakland has a -441 run differential vs Texas.

The best thing to do at the Oakland Coliseum is take what the pitcher is giving and move the ball around.

Go in hacking for HRs like we always do there, and we'll leave disappointed with a bunch of Foul Outs. Go in hitting doubles.

I'm enamored by the hate of Dusty, but I get it. I commented a few pages ago that I grew up watching him in the OF with Dodger Blue. Those late '70s Dodgers teams were incredible.

4 of 6 on this road trip seems like a good goal to shoot for. Anything less than that would be disappointing, anything above that would be fantastic.

Is Foscue not on the 40 man roster and Ornealous is? Maybe they would've had to make room and they didn't want to lose someone.

Ornelas is on the 40-man and Foscue is not. That's the only reason Ornelas is getting moved up. I highly doubt he sees any meaningful playing time. It's going to be Duran's gig until he proves otherwise, which is a possibility with how lost he looks at the plate at times recently.

I would think best case scenario for Jung is getting him back a few weeks before the end of September. Until I hear otherwise I'm operating under the assumption that he's done for at least 4-6 weeks. Super disappointing because I think he was the absolute front runner for ROY.

We've just got to keep plugging along. Everyone has injuries, significant and insignificant, and it's not impossible to win it all with guys missing. The Braves won it all missing Ronald freaking Acuña, and I'm sure there are other examples.

Because Foscue is terribly defensively. Not just bad. Absolutely terrible.

If we just wanted a bat to call up, my first choice would be Blaine Crim. I think he's got the right blend of Avg, On Base, and Slug with a solid and not outrageous SO/BB ratio.

I'd probably go with JP Martinez, because in addition to the qualities you posted, he has great speed...hitting .312 with 12 HRs and 36 SBs....OPS is .993
