Yep. We seem to have caught them at a bad time. Doesn't help that our pitching can't throw strikes either.

I'll say it again…but when you don't have a fastball that can get you back on track when you're off, it's so easy for good lineups to spit on all of your stuff that moves. No one cares if you've got a cutter or a sinker if you miss with it. They'll just assume you're going to miss with it every pitch.
I'll add this as well; I really wish the Rangers would adopt the pitching philosophy of teams like the Braves, who preach fastball command and mastery before anything else. If you don't land your fastball for a strike, then idgaf what else you throw you won't throw it and be successful.

You can have nice ERA numbers and be really solid, but if you don't have a guy who can just go out and be nasty, it's tough to deal with a locked-in lineup.

Astros aren't nearly on the level as the Dodgers right now. But you're right, Astros have to be licking their chops watching this game. Thankfully they will be getting the top of our rotation

This series has been evidence that our pitching staff outside of a handful of guys is nowhere near good enough to consistently compete with teams like the Dodgers, Braves etc. Teams that have legit big league stars up and down the lineup.
