BTW, last I heard, we had about $9M to reach the Luxury... so, I suppose any increase would include Luxury Tax, so it may not be all payroll salary.

As of today, Seager is 5.8 PAs from being Qualified.

Going to be hard to get qualified if he misses any more significant time. Hopefully he's only going to get a 10 day stint or so.

Not to rain of the fun speculation parade, but it could also be to replace budgeted revenue they aren't getting, or aren't expecting to get, timely from Ballys. It would be a lot more fun if it was for new players, but they probably wouldn't be sending a cap call unless they know exactly what they are getting and what the cost implications are.

With 64 Games left... He could play in as few as 46 G, so he has some wiggle. I believe a few years ago, MLB started to allow players to take 0-Fers to reach Qualified.

Yandy Diaz is leading at .319. Seager is at .350.... an 0-Fer over the next 6 games would still keep him close.

We are avg about +5,478 fans and that number should increase. That's 443K more fans for the season. Not $50M, but some.

Bally's has released a number of teams, and AFAIK, with bankruptcy, the court has been requiring them to pay. I think that has forced their hand. Pay up or release the team.
