A funny nickname in a joke or when trying to make a point is one thing, but some of them refer to us as Arlington every time they post. Disastros is at least funny too.

Who cares if we get credit? This isn't NCAA Football where perceptions matter. This is MLB where wins matter only. We win the World Series we get all the credit.

So, he didn't get there because he is good... he only got there because someone else is no longer eligible.

Baseball America has him at #93 after the draft. I like to average BA and MLB Pipeline rankings as long as they aren't egregiously far apart.

Arlington hasn't played anyone good. TB started out hot. They were still red hot when we went down to Tampa and beat them 2/3. Im really tired of talking Astros, but I'll say this and we can move on; the fact that some call us "Arlington" is one of my biggest pet peeves in sports. It is beyond petulant and makes whoever is saying it look stupid. This goes for all Tex-Aggers and any fan. Referring to another team as "Arlington" "Baylol" "Whorns" "F*ggies" is just ridiculous. Just refer to them as their name and be an adult. I'll get off my soap box now.

The Oakland A's beat the Boston Red Sox twice at home recently. I'm just hoping they get 1/4 against Houston, but would be ecstatic if they got 2.

Oakland seems to be playing decent ball so it's possible I hope.

Since I live in Arlington, I enjoy the Rangers being called "Arlington". It's our tax dollars that built Jerryworld and Globe Life Mall anyway.

Since the Marlins and the Angels changed their names, I guess that makes the Rangers the only team in a state with multiple franchises to be named after the state rather than the city. For the record, though, I would be cool with Fort Worth Rangers.

I've seen an argument that the Mets are name after the city (their nickname is literally a resident of the city, Metropolitans) whereas the Yankees are a term used by anyone from New York state.

Isn't the argument here New York, not the team name (Mets/Yankees)? Texas, not Rangers?

Technically, it is the tourism dollars. IIRC, there is a special hotel tax that is helping fund it. So, unless you are staying in hotels in Arlington, it is "foreigners" paying for it.

That's embarrassing.

Went to that dude's page and he has a wall full of Cowboys stuff in his home. So he's the worst kind of fan.

Most Astro fans are also Arlington cowboy fans. It's more rare to find a Astro fan that also likes the Texans.

Another Rangers minor leaguer everyone should be taking note of is Abimelec Ortiz. He's 21 and has been absolutely ripping the cover off the ball between Down East and Hickory this season. His slash line with Hickory is: .348/.404/.752/1.156, with 15 homers and 46 RBI's (161 plate appearances). He's got real juice, and has been shooting up not only our prospect list, but the overall prospect list.
