How is everyone doing this morning?

When you say Astros Baseball, what's the first thing that comes to your mind?

I want you to say Dynasty.
Calm.

Woke up this morning just super calm knowing that game 7 is the game that skews most in our favor. We have the experience and the pitching for tonight. The 7 year run has tempered this team for this moment. We are winning the World Series by winning the minimum home games just so there will be an obscure reference to us during the 2073 broadcast of the ALSCDCS (American League South Central Division Championship Series, brought to you by Brawndo).

understood but let's be real about the situation

Phils weakness is bullpen but they will just hit their way out of it
Nice thing is that bullpens and pitching stay pretty consistent. Bats can go hot and cold on a moments notice. I'd like the opportunity to test the Phils.

We need to show the **** up tonight

I refuse to believe people in this thread would actually sit Tucker if they had a full of the lineup card

Brantley needs to play / Chas needs to play

Dubon needs to sit, simple as that

I don't care what anybody says or thinks, the AL & the WS title runs through Houston until somebody knocks us out. Period.
And we're still here fighting. Let's handle business tonight and bring on Philadelphia or Arizona.

Is he gonna suck d*** and ruin multiple ABs for us with their inconsistent zone and bull**** outside calls like they did the past 2 games?
I think it's gonna be the same ump behind home plate we had for game 1 based on the rotation.

Sitting Tucker would be absurd. Yes, he's struggling. But at the end of the day him being in the lineup causes problems for opposing pitchers and managers. They know that ALL it takes is one swing for that guy.

Altuve
Uncle Mike
Yordan
Bregs
Abreu
Tuck
Chas
Pena
Maldy

In all honesty, I'd prefer Diaz over Maldy, but I know that isn't going to happen. This is what I'd like to see though, but I'd expect Yordan and Bregs to be flipped based off of what Dusty has done recently. I just think Yordan should be getting as many ABs as possible.

I'm trying not to think too much about it yet. We just need to get there.

Dubon was a nice wrinkle for a few games, but it's clear the Rangers know how to pitch him now and take advantage of his lack of plate discipline. Time for Chas to go back to CF. He might chase the low change up and strike out a few times, but any mistake goes into the right field bleachers and Scherzer/etc have to respect that.

I hope that's the case if the Ragners advance, but if they get past us I think they're winning it all. Unfortunately.

Rangers aren't beating the Phillies. Their starting pitching is as hot as their bats are. Phillies seem to be a "team of destiny" right now.

Hell I'd move Tucker into the 2 hole. Maybe it'll be a shock to the system and snap him out of it.

Brantley can get the ABs with guys on in the 6 spot

I would be okay with this, or putting Bregman back in the 2-hole with Tucker at three. As well as Tucker and Alvarez hit lefties, I don't really care about them being back to back. Both have hit Chapman, well, too. Moving Brantley to six would help the bottom four not feel like a black hole. I think Dusty needs to strongly consider sitting Pena, too. I'd go with:

Altuve 2B
Bregman 3B
Tucker RF
Alvarez DH
Abreu 1B
Brantley LF
McCormick CF
Dubon SS
Diaz C

Although we know Maldy will be catching.

Trust me, I hope you're right, but I think Arlington has their own "team of destiny" thing going on. Every break seems to be going their way.

If the Rangers win, we have to choose between the Rangers winning a world series and the American economy tanking.

Hope everyone's been saving up...

I slept on it and realized it's all part of the master plan to give everyone hope and rip their hearts out tonight in game 7. We didn't even clinch the division until the very last day of the season, so why should the ALCS be any different?

The economy is going to tank regardless. I at least want Arlington to come up short to comfort me as my bank account shrinks.

Pena won't sit. He might get PH for late in the game if it's tight, but he isn't sitting. Dusty will not sit what is arguably our best defensive player in a game 7.
Other than that, and the obvious of knowing Maldy will be in there, I actually really like your lineup. Maybe Chas and Pena will stop pressing so much if they look up and see Uncle Mike standing on 1st or 2nd. Just keep it simple and try to work one base at a time and hopefully turn the lineup over to Altuve and Bregs. Maldy...his ONLY job at the plate tonight should be to crowd the plate and stand there until he gets two strikes. Make the Rangers throw strikes to you.

This series is a mirror for the regular season. Both teams trading punches. Neck and neck at the finish. I felt from the beginning the key was to win at least one of the Montgomery/Eovaldi starts. We went 1-3, so mission accomplished.

The cards favor the Astros tonight. We just have to take advantage. Nut up or shut up time.
Did MMP burn down last night? Are they playing game 7 in Arlington? That's the only way I can see that the Astros win.

Dan Bellino was the HP ump in a Houston vs Texas game this year at MMP.

Can we all agree that he is the best Astros player of all time? Everything he stands for and is the face of the organization. He goes from city to city and gets booed but lets his bat and glove do the talking.

Man should never have to buy another beer in Houston again.

Dubon is a Gold Glove finalist at second and utility. He's no slouch on defense. Peña could pinch run for Brantley late in the game and stay in to play defense, sliding Chas over to left and Dubon to center.

When you're trying to win game 7, you sometimes have to give yourself the best chance to win. Peña is not 2022 post season Pena and hasn't been all season. It's a completely different situation than you have with Tucker. Peña's inability to lift the ball right now makes him a strikeout or groundout candidate nearly every at bat. If Maldy has to be behind the plate, then we need to strongly consider sitting Pena in favor of a batter that's been hitting the ball better all postseason, and arguably all season.

He's arguably the best Houston sports figure of all time. If he hasn't already surpassed Hakeem, he's very close.

I don't think it's even arguable. Plus, Altuve never funded terrorism, so that for sure puts him in the lead.

Your logic is certainly sound, and I would definitely consider it. But no way in hell Johnnie B. "Dusty" Baker sits Pena.

I have to disagree a bit. Altuve is great, one of my all time favorite Astros.
For us fans that are a bit long in the tooth, we grew up with Hakeem. He took the Coogs to 2 national title game in college. Hall of famer that won 2 titles with the Rockets. But, most important, for me at least, he brought the city of Houston it's very 1st championship EVER, out of the 3 major sports.

Majority of the sports betting pundits and editorial sites expect a slim Astros victory tonight

The pennant is there for the taking. We have the tools to get it done.
It's a mental game at this point. Rangers are very beatable, and Scherzer is awful on the road.

As others have said, if we can't win 1 of 4 games in our own ballpark, we don't deserve to continue.

Looking at tonight's game, I'd much rather be an Astros fan than an Arlington rangers fan.

Altuve #1, easily.
