I view Maldy like a pitcher. If we can get him to the plate to end the inning, we've done good.

Of course, he'll probably make me eat my words and have a productive at bat next inning.

Yeah. Playoff baseball is a roller coaster. If Jose can start mixing in that changeup and keep them off balance this may turn into a battle to the finish. BUT… I would really like to see our top do the order pick up a couple next frame.

They'll just throw him high fastballs and get 3 swings & misses…I'm not sure I can remember a professional hitter who loves to swing at the high fast ball as much as Maldy without ever making contact.

Brantley caught a ball and his momentum of the lean caused him to fall and roll out of it. Totally different than an all out sprint and diving into a wall which if you miss is an inside the park HR

Ummm. First pitch fastball to a lefty. I don't know but with him having found his change up last inning I wouldn't have thrown that pitch. Or at least not for a strike.
