Hmmm…homefield.

Astros .500 at home and 1.000 on the road in this postseason so far.

If I had to guess that'll be the key in the next series, get the split at home in the first two games.

Yep, split at home, take 2 of 3 up north, and win 1 of 2 back home, that's my best prediction on how it plays out. I don't see this team winning game 1 and 2 at home, but taking 2 of 3 on the road is doable. Astros are 6-1 in Arlington this season, including a 3 game sweep in September, need to keep that up.

Then it's non-stop talk about ratings.

Rematch with Phillies would be a fun challenge.

Quote:

The Silver Boot Series also now sets up a matchup between the ninth (Baker) and 11th (Bochy) winningest managers in MLB history. But Bochy's 110 losses against Baker are his most against any opposing manager, as he was 82-110 in his career against Baker prior to this season.

And with the Phillies advancing MLB just orgasmed. So did TBS.
Not sure if serious. MLB would rather have Acuna and the Braves than the Phillies again
They would rather take Philly 100 times out of 100 over Atlanta.

Texas, Georgia, and Arizona. In no scenario does a major league sport which garners the lion's share of its revenue from selling broadcast rights want its 'final four' to come exclusively from those states.

The Braves and Dodgers losing like this shows you just how special this run has been. 7 damn years in a row in the ALCS. I know it will come to an end eventually, but what a ride it has been!

Change the official final score to Astros 3, Twins 2.48 and send them a participation trophy.

2 missed strikes, maybe 1 to 2 more on the very edge. (+2 Hou)

2 missed strikes, maybe 1 to 2 more on the very edge. (+2 Min)
2 balls called strikes, maybe 1 to 2 more on the edge. (+2 Hou)

Ignore the ones that maybe have a pixel on the line then we're talking a NET of 2 missed calls against the Twins.

And how many strike calls went against us in the regular season...400, 500? And no, I'm not exaggerating but if someone know how to check those analytics I'd be curious to know.

There was only one egregious one for them and that was in the bottom of the 6th of game 4 with Neris pitching. Kepler struck out looking on a pitch clearly a ball with Royce stealing second. If called correctly you have a full count on Kepler and a man on second.

Lets say Kepler draws a walk you would now have men on first and second, 2 outs with Correa up to the plate. Neris was still pitching in the 7th and Correa lined out to Pena. He did smoke the pitch but who knows how Neris pitches him with men on base instead of nobody on where he can be more aggressive.

That being said, that one missed call was nowhere close to how bad a mistake it was for an umpire to clearly miss a foul tip strikeout. You RARELY see that and I can't recall the last time I saw that occur although I'm sure it has. Bonus points to the 3rd base ump who ruled he didn't swing...really? REALLY? How did he foul tip then you dumb ass.

Honestly, I didn't think it was that bad. I could barely maybe tell on replay. Given the crowd noise, I can see it getting missed. There was an egregious one 2 weeks ago go against the Braves that resulted in a passed ball and the runner on third scoring.

Astros Offense (vs Rangers)
.282 BA
.360 OBP
.537 SLG
.898 OPS
145 wRC+

Rangers Offense (vs Astros)
.268 BA
.331 OBP
.458 SLG
.788 OPS
113 wRC+

I am not exactly breaking any news here. We went 9-4 vs them and the offense went bananas a few times. The Rangers were above the league average but about their average versus us.

Rangers Pitchers vs HOU (listed in order or DS IP + Scherzer and a few more)
Eovaldi - 4.32 ERA, .361 wOBA
Montgomery - no stats
Leclerc - 0.00 ERA, .123 wOBA
Heaney - 2.75 ERA, .290 wOBA
Bradford - 2.00 ERA, .299 wOBA
Chapman - 6.75 ERA, .252 wOBA
Sborz - 12.71 ERA, .467 wOBA
Dunning - 11.57 ERA, .483 wOBA
--
Scherzer - 21.00 ERA, .579 wOBA
Burke - 8.53 ERA, .413 wOBA
Bush - no stats
Perez - 11.25 ERA, .584 wOBA
Smith - 5.40 ERA, .290 wOBA
Stratton - 6.75 ERA, .440 wOBA

Their top few guys were mostly solid against us. We manhandled the rest of them. I think the lack of pitching depth is going to be the story of this postseason.

Game 4 was the tough one. Squirrely rulings. Then in the 9th, bregman hit the sinking liner to left with the bases loaded and 2 outs. If it dropped we win. But benetendi made the shoe string catch and we lose. Win and it's 2-2. Lose and 1-3.
