It's not so much that Maldy sucks donkeys (which he does) as it is that we are sitting the best hitting catcher in the history of the franchise in his favor.

It's like sitting Altuve in favor of Niko Goodrum. It really is.

Deserved runs prevented - Measure of player's total fielding contributions, in runs.

Maldy is 102nd (last place) for catchers. That is 101 catchers ahead of him this season! I appreciate what he has done for our team in the past, but it's time for him to be backup.
