for the season...

the Seattle pitching staff has hit 55 batters in 157 games

so to hit 3 Astros with fastballs in the first 2 games of the series...

and by the way...3 of the Astros best hitters...very suspicious

How many of those 55 were astros?
All I know is Ty France has moved his elbow guard into a pitch 826 times against us.

Afternoon baseball of note- DBacks are playing, so are Marlins and Reds. Could use an Arizona win coupled with Miami and Cubs losses, which would put Arizona on the cusp of clinching a wildcard spot with no ability to improve their slot. Might be beneficial over the next couple of days.
D-Backs up 3-0 early

Miami has a doubleheader with the Mets - 0-2 or a split would be lovely

I meant how many of the 55 plunks Sea has dished out were against astros hitters.

Odd...Because it seems like he also has 826 bombs against us.

He will praise us profusely in his HoF induction speech.

When adding to the list of bad things, don't forget Yordan was out for 7 weeks. If you could normalize his #'s over, say 150 games, he'd be having an MVP caliber season (40+ HR, 130+ RBI).

Won't happen but

4 Altuve
8 McCormick
7 Alvarez
9 Tucker
2 Diaz
DH Brantley
5 Bregman
3 Abreu
6 Pena

If you're gonna put Bregs that far down (and I'm not necessarily against it), I'd go ahead and pencil him 9th to try to flip the lineup over with his (still excellent) ability to draw BBs.

Another indication of how strange/frustrating this season has been. When Yordan went out in early June, we were 36-26. When he came back, we were 58-44. So we were 10 games over .500 with him early, 4 games over .500 without him (for 40 games), and we've played exactly .500 ball since he came back (28-28). Hard to imagine this level of talent results in a .500 team.

I too remember when he drew tons of walks but all he does now is hack at the first pitch

Bregman is going to break out tonight. He had a single last night and hit one hard to the track.

It's going to happen.

I agree, but only b/c we are sh*t talking him today. This is the way. Although, I am not sure we are at the level we need to have an impact.

I predict the Astros score double digit runs en route to a moderately stress-free win, and then we fret about the scoring curse for the next 48 hours.

Stress-free, lol.

Win or lose we'll be calling for Dusty's head by the 3rd inning.

Good lord. No Chas or Yainer? Not like we're in a must win situation or anything…

I hope reason Chas is not playing is because he is hurt. If not, this is just gross mismanagement, having both Chas and Diaz on bench in a must win game.

Brantley well enough to play tonight but we pinch hit with Singleton last night?

Chas could barely get up off the ground last night after getting beaned in the low back area. His absence from the lineup doesn't surprise me at all.

One thing that slightly concerns me is they hit either or both him and Yainer last night to get Framber fired up to retaliate tonight which already backfired at least once this season against Arlington.

If Miller is a slider guy, I'm not so upset about Chaz and Yainer sitting. Bring them in later maybe.

Yeah, Framber needs to go 8 scoreless with no drama, then let Stanek come on with an eight-run lead and smoke a couple of guys in the 9th.

On 790 this morning one of Miller's coaches at Blinn messaged Sean saying the 4-seamer is his money pitch.
