Except for that last AB - that was really bad. At least Abreu swung at some strikes.

That was one of the worst ABs from Diaz in a while.

Young guy in a really big spot in a tight race down the stretch. Just tried to do too much.

I doubt it. Why would the approach be different? That approach is to either get him to swing and miss or induce a groundball, which he did, to get a DP.

Not saying I disagree with Diaz batting fifth there instead of Abreu. It was a young guy trying to do too much in a huge situation who is already aggressive. Seattle would have taken advantage of that if he was batting bases loaded 1 out or 2 in my opinion.
