I don't think we'll be spending much money here.

JV, Framber, Javier are locks.

Between France, Brown, Arrighetti, Gordon we should have plenty of young talent to develop.

Then we'll be getting LMJ back.

Unless there is a big trade option, I'm not sure it'll look too different.

I don't think our pitching staff requires an overhaul short term. We had a rough year with starters on the injuries but had the chance to see JP emerge as a guy we can absolutely work with throughout a season. Framber, Verlander, Javi, Brown, Urquidy, France. If Lance can give us even a partial season there are 6.5 starters there. The bullpen will have some shakeup but lets assume Luis ends up there when he makes it back. A lefty in the bullpen would be nice to add. If healthy, the team is pretty loaded up and no WBC to throw off a normal preparation schedule next year.

I've been told by both of my people that he may end up in the bullpen when he comes back. They think it stuff projects better out of the pen and that he could be an elite 7th or 8th inning guy.

generally speaking...the Astros have the most talented (or second most) roster in the American League

the first offseason priority is finding a new manager that knows how to deploy the talent properly

second priority is making headway on the contract extensions for Altuve, Bregman, and Tucker

then adding bullpen arms and upgrading the bench from the left side

there was hope that Brantley could be a difference maker against Seattle's right-handed rotation

we saw why yesterday vs. Bradish

hopefully MB can return by Monday to balance the lineup

I still think a SP should be a target this offseason. I'm a little concerned that we'll see a steady decline with JV next year.

Crap...lefty pitching, that means no Diaz because he certainly can't hit left-handers. It is known. Also, gotta split Tucker and Yordan....for reasons.

Probably won't be anything new in this but interesting that PBS is the first network to put out a documentary about it. Netflix or ESPN will likely take a stab at it eventually as well
