the 5 players probably thought they were safe after the trade deadline...and would play August and September in Southern California

and ease into the offseason.

can a player refuse to play for the team that claims him?

The only teams we have priority over are Rangers, Brewers, Mariners, Rays, Dodgers, Orioles, and Braves.

Seems like a longshot, but that won't stop me from getting my hopes all the way up.

Just a reminder that the rosters expand in a couple of days. How long would it be before a claim is processed? Could we hypothetically add a guy and not have to make a corresponding move?

Waivers are 47 hours. It'll have to be done before. I also think it has to be done before the expanded rosters to be eligible to the postseason. Just going on memory there.

I heard Junction Jack is coming back. Orbit is being cancelled after being caught on camera yelling obscenities in a road rage incident. The team will release a statement soon.

The replacement was Dusty's decision. The front office wanted to put the Shooting Stars front and center in wake of Orbit's exit, but Dusty insisted on bringing back the rabbit.

I read the Arlington board on the waivers. Pretty much everything they said about how this works is completely wrong.

There are no trades after the deadline now (like our JV trade in 17)
They can be pulled back (no reason to though)
It going from worst to best record, not by league.

I made my first trip to Fenway yesterday. Pretty good game to pick if you're an Astros fan. Park is very cool. Outside stadium pregame was super cool. I was expecting Bosox fans to be mouthy but that was not the case at all. It was somewhat of an Astros invasion tho. I'd guess at least 7K Astros fans on hand.

Altuve's 8th inning homer
Over the Green Monster was epic. I didn't realize he had hit for the cycle until today.
