I will always love him for what he did last year…. But you could argue Javier's regression and Framber's inconsistencies are the reason we are not in first place right now

He needs a sports psychologist. He mentally melts when a fly lands on him. He turns to mush when anything goes even a little wrong. Even giving up a hit can push him over the edge.

Javier needs to go on the 10 day IL to get rest. We have days off coming up and can go with 5 guys in the rotation and add another arm for the pen.

If Framber and Javier were close to their 2022 selves and everything else about this team was held constant, I'd feel really good out about repeat chances.

I don't think we have a choice at this point. Wonder what the chances are of Arrighetti getting a quick look.
Not sure if we could IL/shutdown Javier at this point, but maybe just have him pitch a couple two inning relief stints over the next couple weeks. Then gauge how he's feeling in mid Sept.
