The banners in the background of both pics really put into perspective how much this Franchise has changed since Singleton's last stint in Houston.
Go back tomorrow and find out?texasaggie2015 said:
That was fun. In the last three games I've gone to, the Astros have scored 30 total runs, thrown a no-hitter, Jon Singleton has had a two home run game, and Maldonado has had a three hit game.
What's next?

Singleton goes 3 for 4 with two home runs and a walkW said:
just for fun...
if Singleton starts all 3 games at first base this weekend...
and goes 3 for 12 with a double and a walk
(which computes to approximately a .640 OPS)
he will have adequately replaced Abreu's bat/production in the lineup

it may be up to the Astros to stop the Mariners hot streak next weekend

What the **** do some of you see in singleton. Absolutely ****ing awful. Should have never been allowed to hit in that situation.
Singleton has 20% of the total HRs Abreu hit the season in his last 2 at bats.

If my worn out memory serves me correctly, Elston did the play by play the first three innings, Passe the middle 3, and Elston the last 3. There was no color commentator. They shared the booth the whole game.McInnis said:cap-n-jack said:McInnis said:
Loel Passe would say Jose is hotter than a depot stove wouldn't he?
Oh man, thanks for that, what great memories from Loel.
But two things I'm puzzled by. I don't ever remember him doing play by play. I always thought he was Gene Elston's color man. And I don't remember him ever calling an Astros homer without saying "and that ball is an Astro orbit".
Anyone a little older than me remember these things better?
Dusty Baker: "The other guys that are playing first haven’t shown that they have earned that yet, either. You just can’t give it to them. We’re not in the experimenting (business). We’ll see how that goes before we start talking about timeshare." -https://t.co/FSHF1Ihlal

Just checking in here. But man, hearing Brownie on the call really brought back some memories for me. Loved it!
And we apparently have a new first baseman.
Good morning to everyone but Anaheim, #GoHalos fans and anyone who doesn’t love a good comeback story. Or two. It’s good to be Houston, isn’t it?😏 #Ready2Reign #ad @CramCrew @UVCPOWERSPORTS pic.twitter.com/GxOuLBTG2q
