Must be nice. The only game I went to is when the Mariners hung 9 on us in one inning while we couldn't do anything.

But two things I'm puzzled by. I don't ever remember him doing play by play. I always thought he was Gene Elston's color man. And I don't remember him ever calling an Astros homer without saying "and that ball is an Astro orbit".

Ostensibly that makes him a color analyst/commentator. That role often takes PBP during the middle third. Similar to Sparks. It gives the PBP guy a break and gives the listener a change of pace too.

It's like Singleton was locked in a time capsule and got out after 8 years.
Having a live bat like Singleton's in the bottom 3rd changes this offense. Also Peña's starting to hit.
Still need Abreu to return, maybe the back thing has been the issue. If so doesn't seem like there would be a quick fix though.
