The Mets have already set a precedent for this this year. They made that trade with the mariners where they picked up a guy with a high contract and then immediately DFA'd him and ate his money.

How about the first Euro soccer style loan deal in MLB for Verlander lol

We get him for the rest of the year and then the Mets can just have him and his contract back after this season. We'll throw in a prospect for the loan
