Just going off memory but wasn't Javier much better without Maldy last year? Maybe it's time for a change.

Why do we feel like Javier has to have maldy now? Last year didn't he pitch a ton to Lee/Vasquez and then obviously the no hitter with Vasquez.

Framber/Maldy I get (kind of), and maybe this has more to do with Javier going from the 3/4 for to clear 2 but it seems like he pitches fine to anybody.

Would imagine Brandon Bielak will slot into Ronel Blanco's spot in the rotation until the All-Star break.

I think it's more than that. Bielak will be the emergency long relief in case a start goes south fast. Ronel can't do that if he is starting. If it gets to Blanco's spot then Bielak can start it.

Bielak has to take either the Tuesday or Wed start. No one else is on full rest if Framber isn't going until Thursday/Friday. I would think it'll be France Tuesday, Bielak Wednesday.

Sitting in the airport atm, but I encourage those of you who enjoy fan stuff to look at Chas's splits with bases empty vs men on.

There's something about mccormick that just defies logic. If you look at his statcast projections, they peg him consistently as an expected .220 hitter since he has been up, yet he's pretty consistently been a .250 hitter. I think there's something about his extreme opposite field approach the advanced metrics can't account for. That's probably also why the brass hasn't pushed too hard to get him in the lineup. The advanced metrics say he and Meyers should be much closer together as hitters. Contrary to the eyeball test, Jake also grades out as an excellent CF.

I think he might be a guy that adjusts his approach to get a hit when it's needed vs just always try to crank it. Idk.
