Interesting thought but I'd agree that he probably won't move Altuve off.

Would imagine Brandon Bielak will slot into Ronel Blanco's spot in the rotation until the All-Star break.

If that happened, it would be like when Jimy Williams got boo'ed by the home fans in the 2004 all-star game at minute maid, then got fired before they resumed play.Wabs said:
Servais is probably a 3-4 game losing streak away from being canned.
That's gotta suck as a player...you have a decent outing and get shipped back down to the minor leagues. That's baseball.Farmer1906 said:Would imagine Brandon Bielak will slot into Ronel Blanco's spot in the rotation until the All-Star break.

checking in with Carlos...
and he's having the worst season of his career.
has played in 74 of 85 games for the Twins -- only missed 11 games.so far
dreadful .695 OPS and OPS+ of 91 in his age 28 season
leads the American League with 14 GiDP's
making $33 MM this year so that's good
I think it's more than that. Bielak will be the emergency long relief in case a start goes south fast. Ronel can't do that if he is starting. If it gets to Blanco's spot then Bielak can start it.Farmer1906 said:Would imagine Brandon Bielak will slot into Ronel Blanco's spot in the rotation until the All-Star break.

Has anyone checked on whether what Peña slept on was actually a torture device?
See my post about his splits with men on base. Oh, and high leverage too.MaxPower said:
There's something about mccormick that just defies logic. If you look at his statcast projections, they peg him consistently as an expected .220 hitter since he has been up, yet he's pretty consistently been a .250 hitter. I think there's something about his extreme opposite field approach the advanced metrics can't account for. That's probably also why the brass hasn't pushed too hard to get him in the lineup. The advanced metrics say he and Meyers should be much closer together as hitters. Contrary to the eyeball test, Jake also grades out as an excellent CF.
Jeremy Peña is taking grounders at shortstop here in Arlington.

They have Cleveland/Minn combining for about 96% chance of making postseason. With as bad as central is, that makes sense that one is in and one is out. Basically 2/1 in favor of MN right now but should probably be closer to 50/50Marvin said:iamtheglove said:Wabs said:AL playoff chances, per Fangraphs:

I'm surprised Cleveland is that low.
Urquidy will throw live bullpen tomorrow in Houston, but won’t face Brantley, who has “plateaued somewhat,” Dusty Baker said.
