Man - how nice would it be if the Astros could reel these suckers in and have the lead by the ASB.

If the Astros have the opportunity, and accomplish taking the division lead, I hope they have that Bally Sports tweet on deck for a response.

His defense is certainly above average.

As a hitter, he's young, and I'm willing to give him another year or two to develop. Hopefully he can follow the same track as George and get his K numbers down. In my opinion you don't really lose anything by him playing SS for the next year or two since he's so cheap.

If he shows zero improvement by Aug of next year, I think you're at least beginning to wonder if you need to prepare someone else to play the position.

Exactly. Way too early to tell. Pitchers adjust to him as he has grown in number of ABs and his sample size grows. He will need to see if he can make that next step. I'm thinking he will be alright.

This. He was ALCS and WS MVP for a reason. He's got speed, pop, and elite defense. He does have to grow and adjust but he's earned that chance. He's a fantastic option to have with this much team control at the position.

Depends on the context. I don't consider him a core piece so I'd be willing to move him if you think it helps your club but he's not someone I'm just trying to get rid of.

Maybe he would take the Acuna type of extension and get a lot of years for low AAV. Braves extended Acuna for 10 years 124 MM

It's not really what happened. It's just a what the PR people are told to cut and paste from last time. They don't have anything else real they can say anyway.

Same thing happened to Yuli in 2021 before the Dodgers series and he was out for 2 weeks

His fastball is up 2 mph from last year. Don't think the sticky helps with that. I'd guess he had an injury he was dealing with.

Decent haul for the Royals. Ragans hasn't done much at the big league level but still young and his numbers in the upper minors were very good. Cabrera is a lotto ticket but his early results are very encouraging.
