The guys on this team think they're king $#!+ after waltzing to the ALCS 6 years in a row. They're getting a reality check this year. If anything, i hope this season breaks up any complacency they might have and serves as a wake-up call.

Did you honestly think Abreu was going to be this bad?
Abreu was a guy they desperately wanted when he was signing in 2013, but they couldn't work out a deal. This to me reeks of a "he was good back then and he's available now, lets go get him". His regression last year should have been a warning. I'm by no means a Yuli guy, but we could have done better than Abreu. We should have let someone else make that mistake.

Funny thing is, the team isn't as bad as the record. We keep putting call-ups into high leverage games, and leave guys like Dubon and McCormick on the bench. Julks gets every chance in the world to play daily get into a groove, but Diaz, McCormick, Meyers and Dubon get a couple of hits and get rewarded with a bench day. Montero keeps getting trotted out to the mound in leverage situations, and is serving meatballs. Pitcher walks 3 straight--Dusty leaves him in for a 4th batter.

I get this isn't a 110 win team, but I'd venture to state that Dusty has cost ~4 wins this year compared to an average manager. That puts us right at/near the top of the west.

Bad team is bad. Bad teams find ways to lose games.

They were up 7-3. Maton serving up the homer, Julks GIDP, Dusty leaving Bryan Abreu in, Jose Abreu batting cleanup to ground into that last DP, it all adds up before you even get to the ump screw job.

They lose when they don't score and they lose when they do. Just bad.

I think four wins is a legitimate underestimate.
