It's not just their hitting either, the starting pitching has been good too.
They've had a long run of misery, so I can't begrudge them their success for the season thus far. Hopefully we can upend it in some fashion down the line.

For them to slump it'd take both the offense and pitching misfiring at once, they have a good enough baseline right now to survive a flat tire. Health is the biggest separating factor right now, IMO. They're doing this without DeGrom and we are out a bat and a couple arms. We'll see where the equilibrium settles.
They came close - they lost 2/3 to the A's followed by a sweep from the Reds.
They bounced right back and haven't wavered. Their pitching isn't elite, but it's enough to win when they are getting this sort of consistent run production.
Right now the three teams in the AL that look like they could be the champ are the Rays, the Rangers and Us.
But it's a long season - and trajectory can change pretty quickly

Confidence is a helluva drug and they have a lot of it right now.
I have a feeling we will face off against the Rangers in the playoffs.

There's simply no way they maintain THIS level of offensive production. They've had 15 double digit games this year.
I'm pretty sure no team in MLB history has maintained that level of production.
Also...is this legit? I hate to be that guy, but when a team is performing at "never been done before" status, its a fair question to ask. We were doing that in '17 when we had the fewest strikeouts and most home runs.

I'm assuming the Rangerettes will never lose again. Team of destiny that would cream the '27 Yankees. They are invincible. They have the equivalent of a perfect game going early in the fourth inning. Nothing can jinx these titans of the diamond.

Rangers haven't been the hunted in forever. The gorilla will start to weigh them down in the 2nd half of the season.
I think it's more that they're on a historical pace as far as run differential and it's likely not sustainable.
Just need to be within striking distance when they regress because chances are they will.

Part of me hopes that they put up a record setting run differential, and then we sweep them in the playoffs.
The rational part of me doesn't want them to set the record, but the Astro's recent sustained playoff success has me phlegmatic at the prospect.

Ohtani had the samurai helmet made by a legit armor maker in Japan. It is the real deal. He paid like $4k for it. I think it is pretty cool.

I went back and looked at the last 20 years. The highest single season BABIP is .332 by the '17 Rockies. The Rockies and Coors Field also have the 5th, 6th 13th, 14th, 16th, & 18th highest. It's like high altitude gives the offense a crazy advantage. But guess who is #2. The 23 Rangers at .330. If you look at BABIP+ (comparing league averages and park factors) they move from 2nd to 1st. What's more likely? This team is one for the history books as the most efficient teams ever when they put the ball in play or that they're going to come back to earth? Regression is coming. Expect drop offs from Jankowski, Semien, Grossman, & Taveras.
Some regression is possible, but Grossman has been a negative WAR player so far, so not much more regression possible there 
It's most likely that Jung and Taveras regress as they've never done a full 162 at the big league level before.
Jankowski has always been a spare, and when Duran is full back he's likely to get most of the ABs that Jankowski was getting.
This Rangers team has some pretty good depth at the moment, it'll be interesting to see if they are active in the trade market beyond the obvious needs in the bull pen.
It's most likely that Jung and Taveras regress as they've never done a full 162 at the big league level before.
