RE is predictive. The missed call leaves us before the next pitch at +0.48. If he calls it correctly the RE before the next pitch is 0.87. From a RE standpoint he made it worse.

Yeah I totally get that. It hurt RE but not "us" hence my question. I thought the ump scorecard was a bit more sophisticated than just RE and accounted for what actually happened as well.

I think all it does is measure the collective change in RE based on the missed pitch including things like the misse run on the missed ball 4 call the other night that would have played a guarantee run versus the out. I think.

Yeah that would make more sense than just RE based on some of the scorecards we've seen. Certainly seems to comprehend the situation on the field for that exact play anyway.
