Peña in the 2-hole doesn't really make a lot of sense on paper, but maybe what TK and Blummer said about Yordan behind him gives him more pitches over the plate has validity.

All I know is I don't expect him to be out of the 2-hole much this season.

They showed us last night that his OPS doubles when he's in the 2 hole.

He shouldn't leave that spot again.

The doubled OPS is a result.

His weaknesses are still the same whether he's batting 2nd or 6th. His not a prototypical 2-hole hitter on paper, which is my point. It doesn't make sense why his OPS doubles batting 2nd as opposed to 6th when you really think about it. That's a huge swing.

For example, I would expect Altuve and Yordan hit hit roughly the same anywhere in the lineup.

It doubles because pitchers aren't going to spin sliders a foot outside and risk walking JP in front of Yordan. They are much more fine with their pitches.


I get that.

I'm saying it doesn't make sense on paper, when you look at the hitter he is, that you would put him in the 2-hole.

That's all I was saying.
