I see one bad call against them and 5 that bad or worse against us.

Nice and even Jerry.

His problem was he made it personal. After Altuve got rung up on the bad call and Jose complained he took it out on Peña.

Not sure if he's everyone's jive, but Ben Verlander had an interview with Hunter Brown that just dropped this morning. Haven't listened to it yet, but wanted to follow my namesake and link it. Here's the summary:

Best parts of the HB interview are his college and draft day stories. Was being recruited as a bullpen catcher before Wayne State offered him a chance to pitch right away. In HS he didn't pitch much until senior year, and joked about being emergency catcher on the Astros (a joke that should go over great here).

Also found out that while Ben Verlander was in the New York-Penn league he went spikes up sliding into second and gave Mauricio Dubon a scar that he still has to this day. He only found out about it during the World Series last year!

First 10k fans...he needs to be in line probably two hours before gate time.
Last year, if you arrived right as the gates opened, there were still plenty of bobbleheads available. Not sure about this year though. There are usually less lines if you come in from the centerfield and left field entrances.

before the gates open. an hour is probably plenty good to get a bobblehead. if collecting the bobblehead is an absolute must, get there 2+ hours before gates, take a blanket to sit on, a few beers to drink, an ipad to watch, and 'tailgate' while you wait

This is part of the Bally Sports Group. They defaulted on their Padres payments. They were making partial payments to other Bally affiliates including the Rangers but you have to think that's next.

Just caught the Dana Brown interview on 790. nothing surprising, most of what we have speculated here…

He didn't come out and say it but even the radio guys inferred that they are not counting on Lance anytime soon.

Sounded much more optimistic on uncle Mike - didn't get specific but made it seem like he'd be back soon.

Said the team was going to be "aggressive at the deadline" & get Dusty the guys we need to win it all again.

Also stuck up for the Abreu homer celebration. Said that he understands that some people took it the wrong way but that you've got to remember how much pressure he was under and what a release that was for him and at the end of the day we are playing a game and there's nothing wrong with showing the child-like Joy. I like that.

Said that the way the amp handled Peña didn't look good from up above, but said he was waiting to hear the explanation and hoped he was just trying to lean in to hear Peña better and that the optics were worse than the reality. I didn't buy it, I think he's just giving the ump an easy out and trying not to embarrass him. Which is probably the smart play.

I would've said it was another big ego ump trying to make himself the star of the show and just another reason why we can't get robots out there soon enough. And that's why it's good that I'm not the GM.

One part of the broadcast that I liked last night was when they spoke about the system they're using in AAA right now where the pitcher, catcher, and hitter all can challenge a pitch.

I assume you have around 3 challenges and lose them if you're wrong but the best part is that the pitch will be showed on the jumbotron so the entire stadium can see how awful a pitch call the ump made. We need them to feel that shame so hopefully they will "try" to do better.

It's obviously not as good as robo-umps but it's at least a start and can't get here soon enough, especially the way we've been screwed all year.

I'm back from an extended vacation and checking in for the first time in a while...

Yeah, based on everything I've heard, I would expect Brantley back before LMJ.. but I wouldn't expect either one of them back anytime soon. This team is so weird about injuries. Seems like nobody really knows anything.

From what I've heard, they've already been talking with teams specifically about a SP and someone who can play corner outfield and first base. We likely won't see a move until the deadline though.

SIAP- I read that Dusty said Urquidy has progressed to throwing 90 feet. It's not long toss or pitching off a mound, so I think that means he is still a ways away. But, he's continuing to work and is not shut down.
