For a conference tournament? None
Now if we're talking Omaha… that's different.

Although given the crappy 2022-2023 athletics year A&M has had, this trophy would be nice

0. Tomorrow is not relevant to Aggie baseball. Their seed and spot is already set. The committee is having steak and bourbon. Which by the way is what I had.

Y'all are crazy. I'd do about 5 to get get a conference title. Those go in the record book.

And no, we don't host so not hosting in the hypothetical.

5 wins this year? Not a chance. With this offense 5 wins could be the difference between making the dance and not.

I'm with you. Yeah, we'd ***** about a few extra losses but who will remember in October? Does it have to be 5 in a row or spread out? Lol

I was thinking the next 5. But 5 maybe a little steep. I'm of the opinion the Rangers will come back down to earth and we'll finally start hitting a little better. Even with us down and them up the division is 3 games.

I mean, they are going to lose 5 more games, at least, this year. Might as well take the Aggie win with them

We're currently 30-21. I'd take 136-26 all day for a Conference tournament championship!

Rangers fans are Aggies too*, maybe we can cut a deal with them to take 3 losses each, that should appease the BB gods and not effect the division race

I was going to say, can I pick the losses?

Yuli just had a two out rbi single against Ohtani. His swing is still quick and fluid, so different than Abreu. Makes me sick watching him in a Marlins uniform.

and the Rockies (22-30) are not very good

only 1 of his 5 starts have come against a team with a winning record

Winning the sec championship isn't relevant to Aggie baseball? That's ridiculous, especially for a fan base that constantly whines about not winning anything.

Astros are 14 home runs under the league average as a team right now. That is shocking to me. Take Yordan out of the mix and they are just above last place. I know batting average is not the be-all stat these days, and I'm slowly coming around to that. So, slugging needs to drastically improve for the team's postseason chances, in my opinion. It's hard to sequence runs when your team on base percentage (even in the DH era) is a weak .315.

And you know Yordan will start to see fewer and fewer pitches as the games get more important. Who is going to step it up (outside of the very obvious first base position)? Altuve will certainly help... you'd think he's good for double digit homers the rest of the way and a bevy of doubles into the left field corner. I'd like to see Tucker pick up the pace- he ranks 24th in right field slugging percentage with a minimum of 70 at bats. Bregman also- he's 38th in third baseman slugging. That's not good, Bob! I'm not sure who else has the ability unless McCormick gets more playing time.

Thoughts?

Offer the marlins Abreu and McCormick for Yuli.

McCormick and his .200 ba don't need more playing time.

No need to misrespresent what he said- in terms of tournament seeding.

I didn't misrepresent it at all. The original question that he responded to had nothing to do with seeding. It had to do with an A&M win. He said it wasn't relevant which is saying an SEC championship doesn't really matter.

I agree, Mathguy. Their tournament seeding is baked at this point, so tomorrow's game is likely IRRELELVANT to their regional destiny.

Will be great to win, but it has no effect on the tournament.

All sobering numbers. However, getting to the postseason is the goal and we certainly have the pitching to get us there. Once you make the playoffs we've seen how a hot bat or 2 can make all the difference (PeΓ±a, Yordon, Altuve, Tucker, Bregman have all done it in the biggest stage). Today the offense looks bleak but we are a long ways from September. I'm betting most of our underperformers figure it out

Phillies are just one HR ahead of the Astros. Does anyone truly believe Philly's power has gone away? I don't. I don't think the Astros power has gone away either. The weather is heating up. So will our HRs.

I mean, Harper just came back so there is something of a justification there. Do you think Abreu will mash like Harper the rest of the year?

Not arguing your point, but this may not be the best (apple-to-apple) comparison.

Altuve just came back. It's not a terrible comparison.

I was going to point to Altuve as well.
