Am I the only one that doesn't mind Abreu hitting cleanup? For a few reasons:

1. Our lineup is pretty horrendous right now so having our two best hitters back to back leaves a large gap of not a lot. (Jake is hot right now, but who expects this continue for much longer)

2. The way our lineup is, we really need Abreu to produce, so let's give him the vote of confidence and best possible position to succeed. If Altuve produces a 17' year and Bregman gets his act together and provides a 19' year, then we can drop the Abreu experiment, but until that happens our offense is going to sputter no matter what order our lineup is.

3. I love being able to check in on this thread around the time the lineup drops each day and get a chuckle out of everyone's reaction. It never fails, lol.

The issue with Abreu hitting cleanup is that it's not maximizing Yordan.

Teams can throw around the most dangerous hitter in the league and instead make beer league Abreu beat them.

That's the biggest issue for me.

I mean, it's the same conversation EVERY FEAKING DAY. Groundhog's Day.

I think the problem is that the bleeders LIKE to bleed, so they are never going to stop.

This. For seven years now it has been Hinched or Dustied. At what point afte six straight ALCS and four WS does it stop?
For the record I loved Hinch and never *****ed about him...now THAT was nitpicking, complaining about too many shifts and whatnot, but this is a very legitimate gripe and if Dusty wasn't so ****ing obtuse about it maybe I'd get over it but his bull**** "fan stuff" really gets under my skin.

I love the Astros, have since I was about 6 years old way back in 1977. Yup, I'm an old. I want us to have the best team but hitting your weakest OPS guy on the team in the 4 hole makes me want to ask Dusty should we:

I rarely make any comments on here about baker and while its sometimes over the top…so is the collective groups of posters who complain about the complainers. They bleed about the bleeders constantly and are too self absorbed to realize they are literally doing the same thing but think they are somehow fighting the good fight by counterbalancing the negativity. I'm not saying you specifically I'm just saying in general

It's a message board and both groups can be equally annoying but think it's the "other guys" that are the bigger issue

How far into the season do we have with Abreu and Bregman with a batting average close to .200 before we just shut them down? Surely Yainer and Dubon will provide more production than those two.

Maybe its just me but i feel like we have a come to jesus talk amongst the board once a year during the season, this one seems earlier than normal. Lets go astros!!! At the end of the day we all love the astros with a passion. We can all agree this is so much better than losing 100 games a year

Side not I haven't seen covered. Did anyone else's tv have the Spanish broadcast on attSW?

I recorded the game because today was my kids birthday party, sit down to watch and the whole damn thing was Spanish. Wtf? Did they do an English brocade on a different channel or something?

Having tucker and yordan back to back allows opposing teams to not pitch around yordan in the three hole. It allows allows them to get more at bats with our "horrendous offense". That's why Abreu needs to be batting 7th or further. He's literally costing this team runs by batting 4th

The Spanish Language Broadcast was on the Alternative Channel. Kalas and Blummer were on the regular channel.

Well part of it is because if Dusty really did poll this thread daily, not sure you'd like the results. I've bashed many of his decisions as well, but Texags didn't want Meyers to play again, didn't want Dubon back on the roster, wanted Hensley to have more at bats (then didn't)… the list goes on.

I like Dusty, but having Abreu in the lineup is bad enough, and having him in the top of the order is insane. Is there another team with a batter in the top 4 spots with an OPS that starts with a 5? Abreu is even a low 5. Bregman needs to move down as well. If those guys can't get it going against the ****ing A's, they just aren't going to get it going. Dubon has earned a spot in the starting lineup. Better find a spot for him.

Someone will have to explain to me why Bregman should be benched yet Dubon is a must start.

As he heating up, going into today he had a 1.1XX OPS over the last week. His expected #s show he's due to get hot (as he is) and his floor is high because he gets on base even when slumping.

I think the problem in dealing with Abreu is how much Crane has invested in him, not just money but his reputation. He didn't think he needed to hire a GM going into this past off season and Abreu was his big FA signing.

Our best hope - a high pop fly down the first base line where Abreu and Maldy collide giving them both non-life threatening injuries but keeps them on the bench for the next three months or so.

Bregman is already improving and will the rest of the season - at least based on previous years.

Abreu is snowballing down Everest and I'm not sure he's below 20,000' yet… this looks really bad for him
