Big blow to the season. If only Whitely lived up to his potential. Jim Crane "you can always use more starting pitching" and then promptly didn't pick up starting pitching. It's one thing to pass on JV but this was a real possibility that someone gets injured. Urquidy should be the insurance pitcher, not part of the starting 5

Just trade Ohtani for Maldonado straight up. That gives the Angels a veteran presence, and apparently he is the only catcher who knows how to handle pitchers
18 months is on the very high end of recovery for TJ not the norm.
