Wanted to give you guys a quick heads up of what the rest of the season looks like according to my season so far on OOTP24. If you guys don't know the franchise, OOTP (Out of the Park) is a great baseball simulation on steam. You control the entire astros organization, from the Astros themselves all thew way to the Dominican Summer League affiliate.
After 100 games, I'm 61-39 but only 1/2 game ahead of the Mariners in the division. The bright spots this year have been Yordan (290/373/631, 34HR 86 RBI), Tucker (297/357/566, 23 HR, 74 RBI, 18SB) and Christian Javier (11-4, 3.27 ERA, .99 WHIP 198 opponents average against). Abreu was an absolute stud in the first 70 games, with a WAR of 3.0, but broke his kneecap and is out for the rest of the season. Eric Hosmer was upset with his lack of playing time with the cubs, and since he's a left handed bat, a great defensive first baseman and a decent stick; I picked him up for $720,000. This was hugely necessary as only Hensley could play first base on the active roster, and he sucks.
Julks is playing ok (253/326/389) but needs to walk more and only has 11 HR in 316 AB. Yainier Diaz is also playing just ok (243/279/386) but is playing a helluva lot better than Maldy, who has announced he's retiring after the season. Uncle Mike is doing Uncle Mike things, with an OPS of 836 without a lot of power. Altuve is struggling a bit but has only been off the IL for 33 games, and McCormick is playing at about replacement level.
The rest of the pitching has sucked. Framber strained a hamstring and is out for a few months; McCullers is alternating between dazzling, injured, and walking in runs, Hunter Brown can't keep the ball in the strike zone, and Luis is pitching just OK. Urquidy is also a huge meh, low WHIP but gives up tons of home runs, so has a 4.7 ERA.
Abreu has been named the closer after Pressly and his 4.2 ERA blew a few saves. Montero has been lights out in the bullpen as has Seth Martinez.
