I could tell yesterday HB is starting to settle in and get some confidence.

He's kinda strutting around the mound, working at his own pace, and showing some emotions. Can also tell him and Yanier work very well together.

He's just pointing out that Dusty has proven to be a stubborn old mule on stuff like this. At some point, though, the front office has the ability (or at least the desire) to force his hand. He does have the Crane trump card, I guess, but we'll see.

- Speaking of prospects, keep an eye on Ryan Clifford. They are in love with this kid.
People should be just as excited about Clifford as they are Gilbert. He's walked more times than he's struck out while slugging .527, and he's still 19 years old.

I love a good conspiracy theory (not that this is one) so anyone who suggests something plausible and that could happen I am all for it.

I also agree that Dusty is old and stubborn so it may take someone from the FO to step in

the Braves (17-8) are glad the Astros left town. Atlanta has won 3-in-a-row vs. the Marlins since getting swept by the 'stros.

the Mets (14-11) were holding their own without JV and Scherzer, but have now lost 4-in-a-row.

the Braves and Mets play a 4-game series this weekend

I know most of y'all appreciate the info, and I appreciate y'all!

To be completely honest, I kinda pick and choose what to put out there since my "little source" tells me this stuff in confidence. I probably shouldn't be throwing it out there on a public forum anyway, so when I get met with folks being an *******, it's probably best to just shut it down and take a step back. Just not sure why all of a sudden it's a problem.

I've been thinking about this. Maybe my memory isn't good, but didn't the Astros decide to keep a third catcher on the roster so Diaz could DH? If he becomes the starting catcher, and Brantley returns, that issue goes away doesn't it? It seems like Salazar is turning into a wasted roster spot.

The good thing about Maldy's struggles is that they aren't new.

They've now acquired or flirted with acquiring a catcher for multiple deadlines and offseasons. They know he's an issue and that hasn't changed.

Remember when he was posting cryptic tweets about 'How quick they forget' yadda yadda yadda. Well dude you can't hit half your weight and your defense is not what it was. Hell you've had troubling simply catching pitches. So yeah...We're ready to move on.
