Maldy is turning into a passed balls machine. His defense was his biggest asset, but that is failing him. And with the new rules, it doesn't even matter if he's a strong defensive catcher.

game #24 last year was the second win in the 11-game win streak that erased the 2022's club slow April start

But Grienke had a career average of .225 with a .262 OBP and .598 OPS.

Maldonado has career numbers of .208/.284/.631

Mike Hampton? .246/.294/.650

Brandon Backe? .256/.317/.731

Dontrelle Willis and Carlos Zambrano also had higher career OPS than Maldy

Hensley at DH has to be the worst idea in the world. His only asset is that he plays like 12 positions, he's a terrible hitter. Why in the name of God put him at DH?

Zambrano hit .536 for his career against the Astros with 37 home runs.
He also went 23-0 against the Astros with an 0.02 ERA and threw 14 no-hitters against us IIRC.

It's not all bad. Conference early today. Then walked down to the art museum and the rocky statue. Swung by the Catholic cathedral basilica which was beautiful.

Tomorrows free time is heading towards independence hall and Liberty bell

I went to Independence Hall years ago with my wife. There was a group of students there as well. The tour guide mentioned that Abraham Lincoln's body had laid in state there as it was transported back to Illinois from Washington DC.

A few minutes later, we heard one student tell another, "I knew Lincoln was shot here, but I didn't know they buried him here too."
