Been here awhile, I think at least since 2010, maybe earlier. I don't post a lot, but I've been here.

Pressly also gave up a 3-Run HR to Aaron Hicks in a tie ball game against the Yankees early in the season last season.

You guys have to stop panicking.
It seems to me that Pressly usually isn't as effective when he comes into tie games as in save situations. Is that true?

tie games: .270/.320/.382
w/in 1 run: .247/.311/.390

In 2022 -

tie games: .125/.214/.125
w/in 1 run: .145/.209/.145

The league is pretty upside down right now.

The Mets and Dodgers are at .500.

The Phillies, Cards and Mariners have gotten off to similar starts as the Astros -- get they aren't missing two pieces of their lineups.

Pirates, Cubs and DBacks are above .500. The Rangers and Angels are also above .500.

I'm ready for things to balance out.

I really dislike the wholesale change approach. I understand everyone is going to get time off to rest, and everyone is going to get playing time. I accept that process. It just feels reactionary when three players are swapped out of the lineup in a day, and 4 positions are affected by that swap (LF, DH, catcher, CF).

It is so contrary to the scientific method to make wholesale changes because it is difficult, if not impossible, to know how each change affected the outcome.

Your mistake was thinking Dusty knows anything about the scientific method


However, and I can't believe I'm defending Dusty on this, when Yordan is given a day off, are you really that upset that Maldonado also sits? Would you rather have Meyers in the lineup than Julks? That's a push at best, imo.

Reactionary to what exactly?

I think it's more so Yordan has a scheduled day off, it's Yainers turn to catch, we don't have a firm DH with Brantley out, and Julks/Meyer are sharing time in the OF.
