I do wish Yanier had a bunch more regular, non high leverage ABs by now. You of course have to PH for Maldy here but Yanier really needs more ABs period.

It's not exactly like Diaz was setup for success... never been a big league regular, been on the bench for weeks and comes in a massive spot to face Duran. He was overmatched but we need to get him ready by actually playing him.

While I don't agree with checking out for a month, he isn't wrong. Outside of Yordan and Tucker, they suck hard right now. Bats are terrible, Starters have been pretty tepid and the BP has been trash. Not exactly enjoyable entertainment

Hey I'm glad Peña had a good AB finally. Just hope that leads to better on Sunday.

I'm not really worried about turning it around in the long run this year, but it's pretty rough right now. I'm definitely overreacting lol.

I suspect they do something. Machete is so old for a catcher he literally might have to be wheeled out there next year. A trade seems more likely than a free agent. Vazquez was a better option this past offseason than anyone we could get after this season.


In that case, sure is a good things he's a FA after this season and I'd bet there basically no chance we resign him anyways.

I'm sorry, it seems you haven't been paying attention. In addition to the pitch clock rule, MLB has decided that if you lose a series to the Minnesota Twins in April, you are no longer eligible for the postseason.

The Astros can still get a #1 seed in the NIT.

All we have to do is keep it near .500 until Altuve is back.

Peña is slumping and pressing. Bregs is starting slow as per usual.

This team can pitch, we've seen it. They can hit.

We are 9 games in. There are 162. We have completed 1/18 of the season. Does anyone genuinely believe this is a 54 win team?

People need to chill the eff out. The hits will come.

I think everyone is chill, in large part. Sure, there is some frustration and gripe about how the day-to-day lineup is handled, but very few of us are ready to punt the season.

Doesn't mean we have to enjoy how they are playing right now.

You're right. Many of us of this thread are levelheaded and understand it's a long season. My comment is more directed at the cliff jumpers. Then again, if they are cliff jumpers, did we want them in the thread? Hahaha.

The good news...They're only 3-6 but that's not THAT bad. Yes it's underachieving and they haven't looked good but it's early and 3 games under through 9 isn't the end of the world.

The bad news...I'm seeing things that are concerning that are gonna be tough to get right. The crazy amount of Ks, the starters not going deep, and Dusty's BS are all things I'm not 100% convinced will get fixed easily.
