No disrespect to Jeff, but this concerns me

Not any different than what Nolan was doing when Reid was around.

No offense but Nolan didn't try to get Brad Ausmus hired as our GM.

Pretty lucky to split the series. Struck out 41 times and had a total of four extra base hits over a four-game series. You won't win many games punching at that level.
Exactly, we could have easily lost 3 of 4 and don't forget, the White Sox are no slouch and picked by most to win their division.

I'm happy with the split and we just need to tread water until Uncle Mike is back and then Altuve. LMJ would be very nice too as we definitely need another starter.

Yordan was series MVP for sure. His bases clearing double salvaged a split

Split CWS and go feast on tomato cans like the Tigers this at week.

Took me a second what splitting the College World Series meant.

I can't remember if it was 21 or 22 but the Tigers gave us fits. As we all know you can't count anything as an auto win, but I like our chances vs anyone with Brown, Valdez, & Javier.

We need to get our starters to get a little deeper into games.

Really wish there was an off day tomorrow before a 3 game set. A lot of other teams had the day after opening day off

I'd like to see the starters get through a very minimum of 5 complete. Six is optimal early in the season. Later in the season 7 would be optimal.

Also need them to not give up hits every inning. Our starters have given up 6, 7, 7 and 8 hits.

Whip for our starters other than Framber has been pretty terrible

Just saw that the average game time this season so far is 2:41. I think that is a little too fast. Would like to see around 3:00. Especially if I'm going to the ballpark for a day of baseball. Thoughts?

Are these guys even fully stretched out at this point?

Can't imagine they're pushing these guys to go 6-7+ right out of the gate.

Last year was 3:03. Those 3 minutes would really matter to you?

No, it's the 22 minutes faster that matters to me.

Well you still get the same 9 innings of baseball. So you just want more downtime to sit there?

I don't care if it two hours or four hours as long as it's enjoyable. Good baseball is good baseball.

Maybe show up a little early and watch batting practIce. That would be more interesting than watching batters step out of the box after every pitch and adjust their gloves wouldn't it?

Generally I think the pace created by the clock is a very good thing. The problem is, 1) it has to be mandated and enforced with a punishment. 2) it's all the time. Sometimes baseball needs time to marinate, build tension, etc. I'm talking big October situations. I don't want that rushed.

I'll take the bad with the good since I think overall it is helping. When guys get more used to what 15 and 20 seconds are, they'll stop throwing in 8-12.

Depends. I was one of the first people through the gate today and there wasn't BP

I think the pace is fun for watching on television, but it is really fast at the stadium. You don't have time to ask a question or look something up. If you head to the restroom or for a beverage, be ready to miss a full inning, minimum.

Yeah, I liked it when it was long. Made an evening out of the game. Feels like a movie now

I actually think the Rangers will push for a wildcard spot this year. They look good so far

They could be 4-0 and win each game 15-0 and I wouldn't think that. It's just too early to make any real judgements.

You guys who feel that games are becoming too short, and I can surely respect your feelings, I wonder about something. If the new rule mandated a minimum of 35 seconds between pitches and games were now averaging three and a half hours like college football, would you like that better than what we had last year? Or do you think that over the past 100 years the game had evolved in 2022 to a state of perfection and would level off there forever?

Looking at the graph is there any reason to think that the length of games wouldn't continue to increase if something wasn't done? I can see from where we were heading that in another 30 or 40 years games would be lasting on average 3.5 hrs+. After every pitch batters will probably be not only adjusting their gloves but tightening their shoe laces as well.

??

0-16 and 7 K to start the season.

Someone get Breggy a slump buster. Or he needs to knock up the Mrs.
Bregman's September OPS last year was .692 (after the scorching hot August)

he's become very streaky

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Not laughing at you, tjack. Ranger fan ordered their opening weekend win trophy and are waiting on playoff ticket announcements. Guess what? They won't be a .500 team. Just give it a month or so and they'll be back to sniffing Angel ass in fourth place.

Read an "article" today on Fansider from an ass hurt Yankees fan.

It started off saybg that JVs control issyes this year is because he's not in Houston anymore.
He was basically trying to assert the only reason the Astros and Brent Strom have had success with pitchers was the sticky stuff. Nevermind the fact that we've continued to be prolific with pitching development since it was outlawed. Also, apparently we had a double secret patent on the stuff when it was still legal.

It's adorable the things Yankees fans tell each other to make them feel better.

I think they'll be about .500

But the AL wild card race will be tight. I could see them as what the orioles did last year and keeping it interesting. Unless they get hit by injuries to the pitching staff.

The Astros occupy 1000% of the space in Yankee fan's head. They reach for any little thing to justify how their beloved, holier-than-thou, never-have cheated-ever Yankees can't get past the Astros.

I'll say this, DFW radio is jerking it real hard this morning. They looked really good both offensively and defensively against a team that was in the WS last year. They has some insider guy on who was talking about the gap being much closer because of how good Bochi is and how anemic we looked this weekend. Sounds like he only looked at the box score though.
