You have to consider the players who are also on the 40 man roster, coupled with those who signed major league contracts that are in AAA, but also not on the 40 man. There contracts are structed differently where most are making at least 100K a year. Combine that with the other prospects who signed bigger signing bonuses who can choose to have that money deferred out over time there salary is higher. I'm speaking strictly AAA FWIW.

I was offered a 12k/yr contract to play professional soccer in Ireland in 2014. Had just gone through a very bad breakup and was really thinking about changing it up. Had a buddy I grew up with at the time playing over there. The team very much implied that a 2nd job was required to make ends meet over there. They had several of their players that worked for sponsors of the team and used that network to keep players employed. This year the official minimum wage for that league is now 22k/yr.
