Framber will probably really struggle with stolen base attempts. He gets so many groundouts even average runners would be better off trying to steal 2nd (or hit and run) to avoid GIDP with 1 out or less.

I was only able to listen to this weekends games, but I know watching Framber and Javier they were not checking runners in games 1 & 2. I felt like the issue was Maldy would not call the pitch until batter was in the box and we were down to 8 seconds. It doesn't matter how long the pitch clock is (15 seconds vs 20 seconds vs 60 seconds) if we don't call the pitch until 8 seconds then our pitcher is rushed to come set and deliver, no time to really check runners.

We should get better about delivering the call from Maldy to pitcher ASAP, they can't steal his sign with pitch com, don't wait for the batter to be set and looking at pitcher, just return the ball and immediately call the pitch. Added advantage, the pitcher gets extra time to prepare for the pitch mentally, not just dwell on the last pitch.

Agreed.

I still really wonder what our moves will be with McC and Brantley

Edit, never mind appears theyre both listed on the 40 so its just a matter of optioning guys down.

Julks and Martinez I would assume maybe Blanco so he gets more lengthy inning use

Brown should match up very well vs Det. They were dead last in wOBA/xwOBA vs 4 seamers and 4 seamers >95 MPH. Brown's avg 4seamer was 96.6. They also don't draw walks which is one of the struggles Brown has at times.
