We need to build at least a try have lead in the division. I'm concerned we have played two more games than both the M's and Rangers. Assuming they win those games, that leaves us two back. We need to play like we are two games behind.

Why would you assume they win those? They have 2 fewer rest downs to finish the year. That's going to put a strain on their arms.

One of their extra two games is against one another on last Thursday in September. So they can't both win both games.

Whoa. Talk about a No Upside decision for the rangers. He's been out for 6 weeks and has no rehab. He's going to have no length and their oen is already screwed. They must be planning a tandem start.
And that forearm strain is a ticking time bomb.
Pure desperation.
ETA. He's thrown a bull pen session and live batting practice. Sure. Hes ready.
We absolutely need to stand there and run his pitch count up.

Let me clarify. I don't think they will win the two additional games they have to play. I think the Astros should just assume that the Ms or Rangers will win those two additional games. That way they for sure won't be in the outside looking in.
And it's good both teams will have less rest.
Also, with two more wins, we'd currently be tied with the Rangers and one game back of the Ms. I didn't look at the standings prior to posting.

One of Ford or Sparky said it was a bullpen game for them either way. He'd be activated and start on a strict pitch count or would be true bp game. Yeah, same. It almost had a bowl game feel or RRS type game with it being a rivalry and so many fans on both sides in attendance. You could definitely feel the opposing fan bases feeding off each other.
It was a lot of fun.
