Something similar happened to Astros great, [REDACTED], in ‘94. He was having an MVP season—his best of his Hall of Fame career. Known for his unique batting stance, he couldn’t bail quick enough and got hit. He ended up getting a surgery and then stealing the hand doctor’s wife.

2012/2013 - Boston minor league system. 47.1 innings in 47 appearances. Managed to walk 56 and give up 36 runs while hitting another 10 batters and having 20 wild pitches. That's a 6.85 ERA, 2.13 WHIP, and a 10.65 BB/9
2014 - Rangers minor league system, recorded only 2 outs in 4 appearances. Gave up 13 runs over those 4 appearances, walking 9 and hitting 7 in only 18 batters faced. Didn't allow a single hit because everyone just walked. Had one strikeout and one in play out. That's good for a 13.5 WHIP, 121.5 BB/9, and a 175.5 ERA.
2016/17 - Cardinals and Mets minor league system. 12.1 innings over 18 appearances. Gave up 22 runs by walking 37 and hitting 9 batters while having 13 wild pitches. That's one wild pitch for every ~6 batters he faces. Or about once per inning.. Good for a 16.05 ERA, a 27 BB/9, and a 3.73 WHIP.

Agreed. It would be dumb to sign anyone at this point. Good opportunity to evaluate Hensley and see what can do in a more regular role.

Diaz in left is interesting. Has he done that before? Dirden getting some extra looks, too.
Dirden is making the roster now, IMO, at least as a LH PH option and defensive replacement.
