There are lots more details out there, but I didn't want to bog down the thread with too much depressing stuff. The stuff I read definitely can let you connect the dots that he didnt' park in the garage at all, but came home drunk, got into a physical altercation with his wife and slugged her, passed out drunk somewhere, and she drove the car into the garage with him in the passenger seat, left the car running and closed the door to kill him, then left the house, not realizing the fumes would go into the house and into the room where her son was.

As a kid growing up in the 80s, you just heard he had fallen asleep in the car and it was tragic. Before today I had never read a more complete story like this.

Question about the new rules...

Are they going to be in place during the WBC?

Ideally they play these games just like they would in the regular season and use the WBC to acclimate. Otherwise I can see the pitchers having a tough time flipping the switch come regular season after playing WBC games without them.

Looks like the broadcast had a shake up:

Katie Nolan, Melanie Newman won't return to Apple TV for MLB coverage (usatoday.com)

Maybe the broadcast will be better. I just hope they continue to make the Friday night games free.

The talk today made me want to dig i to the Don Wilson story and I found this.

I can see why Mrs. Wilson lawyered up. It seems her doctor declared that her jaw was not injured but the swolleness was from an infection. But still, why was he found on the passenger's side?

The story mentioned that after Joe Morgan was traded from the Astros he accused Harry Walker of being a racist. I didn't know that but that was supposedly why Donn Clendenon refused to report to the Astros following the trade that cost them Rusty Staub. And Walker did play for the St. Louis Cardinals during Jackie Robinson's rookie season when some of their players threatened to go on strike in protest of playing him.

Don Wilson was my favorite Astro when I was a kid. Remember when he died very clearly. Asked my dad what happened and got a really vague answer. Not that he knew anything, but he knew not to go into details with his young son.

Headed to Florida Friday night. Got tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Might see them Monday as well if the rest of the family doesn't overrule me for a day at the beach before we come home. Really hoping the kids get to see Altuve and some of the other big guys warming up, walking around etc

When you get to 28 dig into the Cesar Cedeno shooting of the girl in the Dominican. That was also sketchy. And he was my favorite player.

I did. Both teams cheated, the difference is one wasn't as good at it. They want sympathy for it but should receive judgement for being both cheaters and incompetent.

I like how they went back to 2013 instead of 2017 to deceive viewers into thinking the Dodgers make the LCS at the same frequency as the Astros

Our last game at home is Sept 24th. Last game of the regular season is Oct 1. Assuming we're not playing in the WC series, there will be a large enough gap to have the concert & replace the grass again.

Don't forget Elton was only a problem because of the lockout.
