And the clincher:
Yes, that play got overshadowed by Chas' catch but Trey can definitely feel that he earned his ring. Aithough I guess we'll never know if he gloved that ball out of self defense or not.spadilly said:

The Astros drafted Mark Appel, Brady Aiken, threw years of development in Forrest Whitley just to have some 16 year old kids from the Dominican who signed for $10k become their staff aces.

I've been doing some diligence on our system the last couple weeks after "joking" a few weeks ago the Astros biggest problems are 3+ years away.Farmer1906 said:Baseball America’s preseason top-10 Astros prospects:

Quote:
After landing in the international penalty box for exceeding their bonus pool in 2016, the Astros were limited to paying no more than $300,000 for anyone in the next two years. They gave the maximum to Gonzalez in 2018, and the Dominican has emerged as the best prospect in that crop. He made his U.S. debut last summer and needed just three weeks to merit a promotion to Low-A.
Listed at 6-foot-3, Gonzalez continues to grow and is closer to 6-foot-6 today. His frame gives him tremendous leverage and combines with his bat speed to produce outstanding exit velocities that could increase further as he matures physically. If he can keep his right-handed swing from getting too long, develop some plate discipline and learn to drive more balls in the air, he could produce 20 or more homers per season.
Gonzalez has a rocket arm at shortstop and his throws across the infield have been clocked up to 99 mph. An average runner, he has a quick first step and more than enough range to stay at shortstop. If he slows down too much as he fills out, his power potential and arm would fit the right-field profile.
