We're talking about career highs, not season averages.

Most players have a "peak". If you look at any retired player (or active player by the time they have reached their prime), they are going to have a couple of seasons where they exceed their 162 game average (which includes their early days when they were just figuring it out + their twilight years if they are retired).

Try it. Even Trout who came into the league hitting like Mickey Mantle. Even Joey Gallo!

I think it speaks to how he's been consistently pretty good and consistently played shorter seasons. Sure, he's had injuries galore, but 1/4 of his career in a shortened 2020 & June rookie call-up.

I think the owner is close with Tilman. Look like you're a badass that will spend whatever, then try to shave or cut as many corners as you can to screw people over when you find a window to do so. That's how they become billionaire dewsh bags in the first place the majority of the time.

You come out right away to sell more tickets and get the media looking at your brand to increase it's value. Cohen knew the entire time they were going to use what the Giants used, he just did it in a smarter way to draw attention to his team/product. I'd do the Correa deal right now- 5/160. He can be the best UT ever, playing across the infield. Dusty is going to give everyone a day off each week, anyway, so let him rotate around. He's not a great first baseman? So what, who do we have that will be great on the days Dusty sits Abreu?

Put another way, is the marginal value of an addtional starter greater than the marginal value of replacing Abreu, Altuve, Pena, and Bregman every fifth day with Correa? I'd say the Astros could handle spot starts by Martinez, Bielak, or whoever if they're scoring more than 6 runs a game on average.

I read somewhere that CC had slid really hard into a base with the foot where the plate is and suffered some type of minor injury related to the plate. The injury helped cast added doubt to a possible early onset of arthritis in the ankle joint.

You talking about the same injury that occurred on 9/20 and then he played every game afterwards for the rest of the season. And just had two of his most played games per year back to back after 2016?

Yeah, sounds like a hell of injury versus away for a team to try and pinch pennies since the Giants altered his market.
