I understand that, but if you base just the amount of time and the cost of living in SF compared to Houston, especially with CC and his wife's lifestyle, it will likely be pretty damn close.

How do you know she plans to move to SF?
Probably to make sure Carlos doesn't start putting from the rough while he's out there.

I would agree in the West. LA had taken a step back and SD should be a step up and closer. SF is still farther back.

I think the Mets are top with ATL stepping back and Philly stepping up.

Right now SF seems like odd man out but 1 or 2 big injuries somewhere may well decide it.

I just don't see anyone but StL in the flyover division.

Cost of living applies to people making normal money. If you are spending 10 million dollars a year to live the high life everywhere costs the same and you pick the place you like best.

Others have said the same in so many words, but the Astros formula of
1). Player identification
2). Player development
3). First multi year contract that buys out a couple years of arbitration and delays a couple years if feee agency for the top performers and
4). Short term deals for veterans at positions of need is the winning hand.

Doing the above avoids the 10-13 years massive anchors and has delivered two World Series trophies and counting.

What's creepy are all the people on the FB that want pics of HS recruits and current players when posters run into them.

Pro atheletes though, they sign up for that. As long as you aren't all in their face, shoot away.
I agree man. I coached for over 13 years and now I help for the most part D2 to Juco student athletes and families find the right college fit. Mainly basketball recruiting and have to go over transcripts all day long and get the info to the coaches with current openings that fit the athlete.

I don't take pictures of any athletes, just weird for me after the age of 11 since I played college bball just feels weird doing that to people. Different strokes I guess man.
Say your friend is at a restaurant and Altuve is eating at a nearby table. He snaps a pic and sends it to you saying "look who I ran into!" Is that weird? I don't think so. Same if they posted it to their Facebook.

Now if they put it out on Twitter or tried to give it to some sports tabloid somewhere to get as much views as possible, I would say it's weird. Texags I see about the same level as facebook. It's a limited circle of people that you kind of know.

For me it's all or nothing. I'll either walk and up and have a chat with the guy or nothing at all.

If I don't feel comfortable enough or if the timing isn't right to introduce myself and say hi then it's nothing at all. If I'm not OK with that then I'm not OK with snapping discreet pics without their knowing.
Texaggie7nine

I look at it from their perspective. If I was super famous and rich, eating at a restaurant, I would prefer people just snap their pics and leave me alone for the most part, If they are just posting to facebook and the like and not putting them out for the world to see like on Twitter.

Why would facebook be any better/different than twitter?

Because it will just be seen by their friends. Maybe a few hundred. Unless you are private on Twitter, it's easily accessible by the world and easy to retweet and go viral.

Sure if it's something revealing about the celeb like a free agent everyone is trying to figure out where they are going and the location gives away a clue, people are going to grab it and make it viral pretty much anywhere you post it. But if it's just a regular picture of a celeb somewhere that doesn't reveal anything special, it's probably not going past the group of Facebook friends.

I just never got the value of a picture of a celeb from across a restaurant that they don't even know was being taken.

If you want a picture go get a picture. If you don't think it's right to approach them just leave the phone in your pocket and let it be.

It's just weird to me
Texaggie7nine
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's why I equated it to posting her in Texags. Sure, technically it's out in the public for anyone to see, but it's most likely not going anywhere beyond the maybe few hundred people that browse these threads.

If a buddy txts or tells me that he saw some celeb that I am a fan of at some ordinary place they were at like a store or whatever, I would enjoy hearing the story and I would enjoy it more if they had a picture, even if it is just the celeb by themselves and not taking a pic with my buddy.

I can't fathom being a celeb and being annoyed someone took a picture of me at a public place without me knowing.

No, it's still call him gay. But that's only because we're friends so I'm not calling you that. I worked for the Rockets for over 5 years played against guys like AI, Rashard Lewis and Mike Bibby in AAU prior to college. I actually played with Jerald Brown before he went to A&M so I know most guys like that would be like, come on man.

I just think it's weird man cuz they're just humans but I wasn't actually judging you. Sorry, I know this isn't the zoo.

Okay, so now we're talking about like running into Jessica Alba or something like that in a public place. I get it now my man.

I don't think would remove the Giants. They're still under the tax and have ~80 M coming off the books next year. I do think the Dodgers will go all out for him.
I read an interesting comment this morning that based on his cultural upbringing, Ohtani will likely not pick the Dodgers because it will be like he's disrespecting the Angels and tarnishing his own honor by moving to another team in the same city.
Is it tarnishing his honor to go to a team in the same division that's been making them their bishes?

Asking for a friend.

Well that's because none of those guys are celebs and most people have no clue who they are, so they can expect no one caring when they eat near them.

Huh, Allen Iverson, Rashard Lewis and Mike Bibby aren't celebrities'? I seriously doubt a guy like CC cares, he actually probably loves the attention. That's not quite what my point was but didn't mean to derail our Stros thread. My apologies but still creepish. But thanks for sharing where Carlos was having lunch in his overpriced waste of money kicks.

It's easy to like the Phils, good group of guys.

It's their asshat fans that make you not like their team.

Mike Bibby and Rashard Lewis are most definitely not celebrities. Allen Iverson wouldn't even get recognized in todays world I'm pretty sure expect for a random basketball fan somewhere. And I'm taking really random nerd fan.
