Altuve won't be hurt by the scandal. He's had several really good seasons since then and he's lethal in the post-season. I'm sure some NY and LA writers will take a bull**** stand against them, but that's at least like 12-15 years away, right?

Yordan might feel young to us, but he'll be 26 in June and he doesn't even have 100 home runs in his career yet. He's got to be a big-time talent for the next 10-14 years to be HOF worthy. If he hit 30 homers a year for the next decade, he'd only be at 398. That's not making the HOF.

Really, I'd say Bregman has the best shot if he stays healthy. He's incredible on defense and he gets a lot of respect from the old-school sports media for being so patient at the plate. He's at 140 homers and he's got 2 top 5 MVP finishes. If Yordan goes strictly DH that will be another knock (pun intended) against him.

All of this "Altuve is fine" talk sounds great to me, but if Community leader sunshine kids all-around great guy Craig Biggio got punished for the mere vague suspicion of steroids, then I don't think Altuve's going to get a free pass.

Although I do think he will get in.

I don't think he got punished for suspicion. He is just a lower tier hall of famer. He's clearly worthy, but he's not a great amongst greats. I think that is why it took a few years. For some dumb reason the voters try to differentiate first ballot.

Bidge had 3,000 hits and finished top 5 all time in b doubles. Not voting him on the first ballot is pathetic. Of course there are also people who didn't vote Willie mays or Hank Aaron on the first ballot either.

I have only met a few major leaguers, but with all of them I have been impressed by how big they were. Which makes sense, they're basically lumberjacks.

I had some business interaction with Brad Ausmus when he played in Houston and he showed up once in a T-shirt and the dude was absolutely jacked. You'd never know by his home run totals & I guess he wore his jersey loose, but the guy was a thick as a linebacker.

If Correa signs with the Mets, it will be high AAV short term deal. The big fish is Ohtani.for all the talk about the spending look at the actual contracts. Only one is of significant length and moderately high AAV. Everything else is short term.

The Hall doesn't mean dick to me anymore. All era's had either drugs(amphetamines or steroids) or cheating going on.

All I know is Tuve needs to average 150 per season for the next 7 to be right at 3,000 hits. Not impossible by any stretch.

I may enjoy watching the Mets get beat with their ridiculous overpaid payroll as much as I watch the Dodgers lose every year
