Varsho checks a lot of boxes but as others have said is just too expensive imo. A trade for him including one of our young stud SPs would be a strong indicator that the FO has very little faith in the development of Leon Meyers, Lee and maybe Diaz imo.

No chance in hell this happens. Nothing about this guy screams long term solution and Javier/Brown/Garcia are far too valuable.

Schwab is notoriously not very good at assessing trade value. No chance we give up Javier or Brown for Varsho.

Sounds like the package we'd need to acquire Varsho is similar to what we've been tossing around for Reynolds over the last week. Garcia or Urquidy, Chas, Leon or one of the catchers, maybe another prospect or two.

I don't know enough about Varsho and his upside to know whether or not I'd do that. Gut instinct, if we're going to package Urquidy or Garcia, I'd rather it be for something a little better.

Thus my question of what I was missing. I get the versatility and control aspects, but not the steep price part. Is the net value really there? That's what confused me.

I think it would be beyond stupid to trade a starting pitcher. Just my worthless opinion.

Agreed. That may be the ask but they ain't getting anything close to that.

Look at what the As got for Murphy. Very underwhelming. If anything, the Brewers made out better than them.

All I have to say is Jim Crane can thank his lucky stars we play in the ALW. He's getting a mostly free ride off the other teams being so bad for so long. He's not really had to make the really hard financial decisions.

Jim Crane doesn't need a free ride, he's got the ring they want. Just because some of them are way out there doesn't mean he has to follow.

Ha doubt that but I do think he moves through the farm quickly. Can we not live with Chas for another year?

That's too expensive for Varsho.

Martin is going to be 37. He's fat, slow and can't hit. Combine that with father time and his defense will certainly continue to deteriorate...... I guess Crane is all in on Diaz or Lee
