I appreciate Correa and what he meant to this team, but I don't miss him. Pena helped with that, but his act was a little exhausting at times. He chose money, which is fine.

He was a little too much of a prima Donna for my taste BUT he could back it up. I'll miss that rocket arm most of all.

Random question. How long does it usually take MLB to refund money for tickets to games not played (i.e. game 7)?

Ok thanks. I knew it would probably take a bit but wasn't sure what to expect

Alex carried the offense after Yordan started slumping and stayed hot throughout the playoffs. His resurgence was the key to winning another title, atleast on offense because we needed a steady bat badly after Brantley got hurt.

Mack does a lot right, but couldn't he have at least swung by Academy on the way back from the casino to pick up a WS hoodie from this year? Has to rock the one from last year, when we lost?

Have you seen the price on those things? It would take a chunk out of $75M.

I'll take the guy who has played 155 games or more in 4 of the last 5 full over the guy who has never played 155 games and never will.

Those trajectories are even more likely to continue in their opposite directions with Bregman wanting one last big contract and Correa getting locked up until at or near retirement.

this. he always came off to me as an A-Rod clone. Just something about his demeanor always rubbed me the wrong way.

Carlos is odd for me.

While yes there's no denying he's a bit of a prima donna but he did man up when needed. When no one else wanted to speak up and be the vocal leader he embraced being the heel perfectly.

Hot take alertt...I actually think his leadership may be more valuable than his on field production.

He was never my favorite, but all his stuff is pretty benign in the grand scheme of things. He's a peacock and a bit of a dewsh, but nothing you can't get over in about 3 seconds if he stays healthy and/or plays though nagging stuff during the season and continues to be a postseason stud.

Edit to also respond to 07: Yes, I agree & easily my favorite thing about him is how he took up for the organization when it was under attack, but that also played into his attention-seeking personality and I even more respect for the guys that stuck around and let their play do the talking...and we obviously have more than enough leadership without him.

Pena + Bregman combo is much more preferable to Pena + Correa combo. Its really not even close in my opinion.

I'm a big Correa fan, but Bregman is the better hitter without question. Correa at third doesn't make any sense at this point in his career. He is looking at over $30mm because he is a SS.

Correa signed elsewhere and his replacement was WS MVP and we won the whole damn thing. Carlos can go shoot for the moon and play in obscurity somewhere else. Meanwhile we will keep stacking hardware.

This is a random, off-topic post, but I'm reading this thread while watching the ortho assistant put braces on my daughter's teeth. We talk about players losing their prime after certain ages, and I can't help but wonder if the same happens in professions like this.

If CC can play center or 1B great. If not, he has a little too much Arod in him for me.

Anyone who talks smack about Jeter I lose a little be of faith in.

I'll wear it as a badge of honor. Jeter was ridiculously overrated. His gold gloves are hollow. If he played in Minnesota he might not have even been a first ballot HOFer. Carlos was 100% correct when discussing Jeter.

Oh wow. One of my random early childhood memories is going to a game with my dad against the Marlins in August 1997. Chuck Carr went deep that game.. straight away center if I remember right.

Agreed farmer.

He would have definitely been a hall of famer based on counting stats.

Honestly, he's Craig Biggio playing short stop.

With elite playoff #s too. During Biggio's playing time, that didn't matter to me when judging players' careers. After this current Astros run, my feelings about that changed significantly.

The most overrated athlete in history. Not even sure who else would be in the discussion.

CC 1 for 3 in World Series appearances

Peña 1 for 1 in World Series appearances.
