Ha ha ha. I was in a hurry. It's pretty awful though.

How is this any different that Spring Training? The pitchers are truly the only concern, since they may pitch longer than they are ready for this time of the year. The other players would be playing ST games anyway.
Diaz would not have been celebrating like that after a spring training win

As much as I support guys going all out for the WBC. I am thankful that guys like Yordan and Bregman aren't in it. They would 100% get injured
yes, and the fact that the teams and fans are happy when their players skip the WBC...

kind of says all you need to know about the WBC

(and let's include Framber in that group)

That's b/c teams and fans are selfish. We don't give 2 f-cks about the DR or Cuban national teams...so of course we'd prefer our players from those countries skip it. Though, I don't recall reading too many posts that showed a desire for Tucker or Pressly to skip it.

I'm going to listen to an all-time great like Mike Trout who says WBC is good for baseball, instead of a washed-up, mentally unstable boomer that's trying to stay relevant and throws tantrums over everything.

American fans are...

Venezuelan fans, Dominican fans, Puerta Rican fans, Japanese fans etc. are not

Any of those celebrations have been an accident waiting to happen. He could have done it on the first game of the season celebrating a walk off bunt.

I understand, but from the players perspective it is different. They want to play for their home country team out of pride and if something happens, they are getting paid anyway.

Just start putting language in contracts protecting the club from non club activities. I know it is easier said than done, but if everyday person got hurt away from work they don't get paid for work they don't perform moving forward.

Insurance policy for WBC participation paid for by players?

I m glad they are playing in WBC but employers should be protected.

After coming out of the blocks a little slow this spring, Hunter Brown is mowing them down (that rhymes btw). Last two starts:

7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Wagner's leaving set up for the jersey to be worn by the greatest of all Astros, Tyler White, who donned it from 2016-2019 after the Jersey had been expanded from medium to 4XL. The pride of Forest City, North Carolina, he was a 33rd round draft pick by the Astros in 2013. In his first six games as an Astro, he hit .556 with a 1.167 slugging percentage, prompting Peter Gammons to declare, "There goes Tyler White, the best who ever lived."
How could you not mention his greatest distinction? The Astros literally traded him to LA for a pitcher named Scrubb.

We are edging ever closer to everyone's number 1 favorite. A certain marginal catcher with a penchant for being an egotistical jackwagon manager whose sourpuss face is now well known.

Good thing he and Gavin Lux weren't playing in the WBC.

Seriously though, sucks so bad for the Mets.

I was listening on the radio.

This was 100% Sparks' fault. Right before he hit the slam Sparky says, "the one knock on Baker is that he doesn't have very much power"… and then went on to g
list the stats for how few homers Baker had across the minors.

Rookie mistake. Even the radio guys are still working the kinks out in spring training.
