Not sure how familiar you are with handicapping, but that's not an even match at all.
Going to be completely honest, I am not that familiar with handicapping, but what little understanding I have I took that to be a pretty even match up.

I am apparently way off. Oh well, c'est la vie

All good. FWIW, that's about a 60% chance of Houston winning.

The Dodger tears in the replies are delicious.
Dodger's fans still assume that the 'Stros were "cheating" in game five. Given how quick Roberts rolled through his bullpen in every game before that, the Astros' batters all knew what pitches they were gonna see at the plate without any camera/trash can assistance.

You wanna blame that loss on anything, Doyers, blame it on over-managing.
Kenta Maeda threw 25 pitches in Game 2 and 42(!) pitches in Game 3. Came in Game 5 and got Altuve to a full count before giving up the game tying homer on his 74th pitch of the series. Brandon Morrow pitched in every single game of the WS. He went 10, 14, 13, 14 pitches Games 1 through 4 before coming in Game 5. His Game 5 pitch log:

1. Home Run (Springer)
2. Single (Bregman)
3. Strike
4. Double (Altuve)
5. Wild Pitch
6. Ball
7. Home Run (Correa)

Roberts completely cooked his bullpen in that series. No trash cans needed.

The biggest bet right now is the over. 83% of the bets & 96% of the money.

Fangraphs has us with a 51.9% chance of winning today & 56% of winning the series.

Astros would have to go over 5 runs to both cover and exceed 8 total game runs.

I like all those numbers.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Anything for Marvin.

No idea how Fangraphs categorizes these. I have a hard time believing Lance pitched 48 innings in wet weather last year.

I just want to win game 1 in Philly tonight. Get the whole undefeated at home narrative over with and set a tone for the next two games.

I also really hope for the "F Altuve" chants and then him going 3/4 while blasting a HR.

-135 is implied odds of 57.5%. I'd also like to add the Astros are currently -180 (64%) to win the series on Bovada. If you happened to get the Astros on Saturday when they were down 0-1 in the series they were +105 (49%) to win the series. I'm patting myself on the back for taking the bet Saturday after that gut wrenching loss on Friday.

all the MLB network guys are talking about 2015 Syndergaard, like that is at all relevant to this year. They are trying so hard to make him sound good.

All of this talk about Framber rubbing his hands. His head etc. Everyone knows superstars don't have tics.

Weird

The guys on the MLB postgame the other night were worried about him and surprised he was announced as the starter.

Maybin even said he thought he would be more of an opener. Said he'd be shocked and the Phillies would be excited if he can get them 4 IP.

I didn't realize that Syndergaard hadn't thrown more than 35 pitches in a game since October 1st.

Since Oct 1st, he has 3 appearances totaling 5.1 innings and 68 pitches.

I know others have said it, but I dont see how he lasts long tonight

I'm wondering if he left Suarez in for too long on Friday, and feels uncomfortable starting him today?

Little more than an opener.

Last few games:
1.1 IP, 17 Pitches - relief
3.0 IP, 35 Pitches
1.0 IP, 16 Pitches - relief
----
5.2 IP, 78 Pitches
2.0 IP, 28 Pitches - relief
6.0 IP, 82 Pitches
6.0 IP, 86 Pitches
4.1 IP, 75 Pitches (Sept 3rd)

It's been 4 weeks since he threw more than 35 pitches.

Yes, they pushed Saurez to 4 because of his outing in game 1.

Yep. On Springer's lead off HR (I think 7th or 8th inning), the broadcast team was even commenting on how Morrow pitched 4 games in a row and Springer might be sitting fastball right before the first pitch was thrown.

I think Thomson said that was planned. He knew he was gonna throw Suarez one of GM 3 or 4 and the situation dictated that he go longer in GM 1 so they knew he would be bumped to GM 4.

Not a bad move honestly. He realized how crucial GM 1 was and knew it wasn't really gonna change much to bump him.

There is some truth to this. Tucker, Yordan, Framber, Pena, Chas...these guys have been booed on the road their entire careers. Chas was literally born ~25 miles from boo-town Philly

After the Bregman's baby / Kate Upton talk yesterday, what kind of effort could we see from some of the players if Verlander offered a free weekend with Kate, no questions asked, to whichever Astro is named World Series MVP?

For research purposes:

fivethirtyeight has us 65% to win the WS.

Game 3 : 56%
Game 4 : 57%
Game 5 : 54% (no pitchers announced, but assuming they put in Verlander and Nola, our odds will go up)

Based on JV's previous WS performances, I imagine the odds will go down. I wouldn't be shocked if Philly is the favorite in game 5

has anyone else noticed Biggio kept his prime real-estate behind home plate, but Bagwell got pushed off to the third base side.
