JV blew it in the 4th. Dusty blew it in the 5th by not pulling him before giving up the runs.

JV breezed through the first few innings without issue

You aren't going to pull him in the 4th or 5th with a low pitch count.

You have to trust the Cy Young to get out of it. He didn't. Can't blame Dusty for a **** performance by your best pitcher

Plus I have a feeling Dusty saw shades of Cole in NYY. Sometimes you have to let your ace wear it. Boone made the wrong decision back then, Dusty made the wrong decision tonight. I don't think either were guaranteed losses though. Everyone would still be bleeding the other way if Dusty pulled Verlander and anyone else in the pen gave up those runs.
