Mrs. Marvin is already dressed and ready for tomorrow night. I think she's going with a throwback hat to pay the Phillies back for that last playoff series.

A year earlier than that, but speaking of throwbacks…

I might have to bust out my picture of me at 18 throwing out the first pitch to Scott Servais.
Feels so good, feelin' good again.

Did he whine and ask for it to be overturned?
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Did he hand the ball to Orbit and instruct him to throw it back at your head?

He yelled "Hurry up!" at me while I was walking out to the mound. He was already a D8bag at age 24 apparently. He didn't even catch the game, fellow legend Eddie Taubensee got the call. Highlight of the evening was hearing Mark Portugal call Gary Carter a p&ssy for whining about not getting enough swings in batting practice before the game.
Feels so good, feelin' good again.

She has had a great smile for many years!

But I'm sorry, 2022 Jose Cruz wins the smile contest

That doesn't mean Chandler asked the question. He's said that before. He means JV was asked, not that he specifically asked him.

hot take: roger clemens is in no way, shape, or form an Astros legend.

He's as much of an Astros legend as Gerrit Cole is.

As a professional writer, he should be more clear in his tweets.

Puhl

One of the top 4 or 5 Astros to ever come out of Saskatchewan

A pitcher his whole career, signed by the Astros as an outfielder

Career post-season average of .372 in 13 playoff games

Hit .526 in the 1980 NLCS

Feels so good, feelin' good again.

Since we have 24 hours to kill and I haven't seen this topic pop up recently....

What realistically needs to happen for Verlander to get enshrined in an Astros cap? Especially if we finish off this year with a Championship and he wins another Cy Young.

Tigers : (2005 - 2017)
2006 - Rookie of the Year
2007 - First no hitter
2011 - Second no hitter, unanimous Cy Young winner, AL MVP
2012 - Cy Young runner up / World Series appearance (loss)
2016 - Cy Young runner up, 2,000 strikeouts
(6x All Star)

Astros : (2017 - 2022)
2017 - World Series champion, ALCS MVP
2018 - Cy Young runner up
2019 - Third no hitter / World Series appearance/ Cy Young winner
20/21 - injured
2022 - Probably Cy Young winner / World Series appearance/champion (tbd)
(3x All Star)

I mean, I think it's still tilted in the Tigers favor, but 2 World Series championships in the Astros favor isn't something to look past. 1 Cy Young/MVP in Detroit is probably equitable to the 2 Cy Youngs he will probably have as an Astro.

Is that something he normally does? I'd rather him not be doing trick shots before the world series...don't want him to hurt himself.

Play 4 or more years in Houston and add about ~12 to his career WAR. That is probably when you start entertaining it.

If he plays 4 more years here he also has a shot at getting to 300 wins. Accomplishing that as an Astro would be big as well

I carpooled to kindergarten with Tal Smith's daughter, Valerie. Our families have been long time friends The year Olsen Field opened the Astros came up and played an exhibition game vs the Ags. I sat with Tal Smith for that game and he went on and on about what a player and great kid Terry Puhl was. I think that was the spring after he broke in and he was younger than a lot of kids on campus that day.

He wants to play till he's 45...he does it and does it in a fashion similar to Nollie I can't see him retiring in a Tiger jersey. That would give him roughly the same amount of years here that he had there (hopefully with a crapload of hardware).

Our first 2 series ended with a 1 run win on the road and the opposing team's best player at the plate for the last out. How crazy would it be if we win this thing in Philly by a run and Harper is the final out?

To be fair, it *is* possible for a journalist to cover a team without inserting themselves in the story (e.g.: McTaggart at mlb.com). Something Chandler has yet to learn.

I hated that he didn't show up on days he wasn't starting. I am sure that was in his contract, but what an anti-team, all-me, move. I think about that every time I see JV in the dugout on his "off days".
