Since we have 24 hours to kill and I haven't seen this topic pop up recently....
What realistically needs to happen for Verlander to get enshrined in an Astros cap? Especially if we finish off this year with a Championship and he wins another Cy Young.
Tigers : (2005 - 2017)
2006 - Rookie of the Year
2007 - First no hitter
2011 - Second no hitter, unanimous Cy Young winner, AL MVP
2012 - Cy Young runner up / World Series appearance (loss)
2016 - Cy Young runner up, 2,000 strikeouts
(6x All Star)
Astros : (2017 - 2022)
2017 - World Series champion, ALCS MVP
2018 - Cy Young runner up
2019 - Third no hitter / World Series appearance/ Cy Young winner
20/21 - injured
2022 - Probably Cy Young winner / World Series appearance/champion (tbd)
(3x All Star)
I mean, I think it's still tilted in the Tigers favor, but 2 World Series championships in the Astros favor isn't something to look past. 1 Cy Young/MVP in Detroit is probably equitable to the 2 Cy Youngs he will probably have as an Astro.
