I don't believe there was AOFA and TOFA during the regular season after wins, that probably contributes quite a bit to page count. During the playoffs in 2017 I think it started but I'm not sure.Eso si, Que es said:

I can see Dusty's side of the JV outing. I also like the thought of using Valdez game 2 because he's a better bounce-back on short-rest candidate for game 5. I might have even suggested that a few dozen pages back.Marvin said:

Feels like Servais is going to get desperate and do something colossally dumb (other than pitching to Yordan and pitching Robbie Ray to him) along the lines of trying to provoke a fight. Way too high expectations in Seattle this go around and now that he's going to be Monday morning QB'd all day long about how he handled the 9th he's going to snap and do something tceh tard dumb.

The one thing I had not realized about JV is that in the postseason his era for his last few starts is over 6.4. In 2018/2019 his ERA was north of 4.1. Not the best but not awful.
I bring this up simply to ask that maybe JV doesn't need to be the game 1 starter going forward? I know this season he's been absolutely lights out, but man after yesterday and the last few games in '19 and '18 it just makes me go hmmmm
