We have 5 very good to elite arms in Neris, Abreu, Stanek, Montero, & Pressly. Unless a starter falls flat on their face, you're not going to need Garcia & Uriquidy. I doubt both will even make the roster. There is no reason to bring back the game 2 starter on super short rest for game 4.

I didn't say G2 starter....I said whoever you used in relief.

I don't want those 4 relievers in every game therefore I use guys who have been SP throughout the year as the first arm out of the pen, unless the starter goes 7 or 8

And I can almost guarantee you we will carry 13 arms

You're right, I read that wrong.

I listed 5. And if you used them every game that's 4 IP a game for the starter. They're obviously going to go longer than that. You'd be using 2-4 a game. With the off days between games 1 and 2 / 2 and 3, you're going to need to go 12 or 13 deep regardless if what is carried on the roster.

Do you trust Garcia or Urquidy over Maton? Abreu? Stanek? Brown? I think those are your main candidates for 6th or 7th inning.

If we play Seattle, I want LMJ game 2 at home, Framber game 3, JV game 4 and then figure out game 5. Daytime weather forecast in Seattle looks alright but I don't want to risk LMJ starting a chilly night game up there.

If we play Tampa/Toronto, it matters a little less to me but I would still be inclined to give LMJ the game 2 home start and have Framber as game 3 insurance in the event it's a road must-win.

I respect conflicting opinions though.

Here is a really deep pull for you. Same 2020+ Window. In games where the temp was 60 or below LMJ has a 0.90 ERA in 2 games while Framber has a 4.22 ERA in 3 games.

While it was a perfect 63 in Chicago last year during the ALDS, LMJ went 4 innings of 1 run ball before messing up his forearm. Framber started in ATL (53 degrees) and didn't have his best game.

All that to say, I wouldn't be mad either way. I think the chance of game 5 happening with short rest would favor Framber.

First it's we're playing for the integrity of the game, then it's no we're gonna get guys out like it's a ST game, now it's were gonna leave guys in and play it out.

Meanwhile Click has said they're playing it out because of the off day situation and the need to keep guys sharp.

I can see how it would be frustrating as shlt communicating and working with a guy who isn't on the same page and presenting a cohesive plan.

There were no Astros loosening up until a little before 7, about 10 players in the dugout and then on the field for the national anthem, then more players in the dugout just in time to run out on the field. Crazy

You're right that LMJ's road woes are perhaps overstated, but he's still demonstrably better at home. Framber has been money on the road the last two years. I'd roll LMJ game 2 and Framber game 3.

Personally at the moment I think Chas is far superior in the OF and dont kill me, but better at the plate than Mancini. Diaz true value comes in the playoffs in being a great bat off the bench while also being able to play anywhere...thus resulting in not starting him.

I am calling an audible and going with the legend, Charlie P on how to handle the rotation.

Obviously, JV is going game 1. Then you can do LMJ/Framber or Framber/LMJ. If you're up 2-1, go Javier. He either closes it out and you have JV for game 1 of the ALCS. Or if it goes to a game 5, you have JV.

If you go JV game 4, as I said before, he's only pitching once in the ALCS. If it goes to 5 games, then that is also true, but that's a different situation.
